Recap: Adeline and the family sit down to have their usual family dinners. Everyone was just about to eat when John stood up to say something.
Alright everyone I have an announcement that is pretty big and I have been thinking about what I want to do after highschool. I have finally decided with the help from Dad and Chris to go into the Army with the rest of the rest of the Scott's men. I was shocked that my big brother actually decided to go into the Army and risk his life like my father and other brother do every year. I could not handle it I had to get up, I needed fresh air or I would start balling right then and their. While everyone was busy congratulating John for his decision I slipped out the back door onto the porch and sat down on the step to just process what your happened. A couple of minutes ago I had hope that maybe just maybe John would decided to do something else and break the family tradition. Just for on second I believe he would choose college over the Army. But my hope was crushed in the matter of seconds, I no longer I had my brother to be there for me when I need him or be able to call him if I needed a break from mom and dad. He was not going to be here, he was going to be fare away in some foreign country, risking his life to keep us in America safe. Right now I did not care about America I all I care about right now is that I could possible lose both my brothers and my dad in a matter of months.
While I continued to go over all the possible outcomes of what could happen to my family while over in a foreign country, I didn't hear John opening the door and sitting down next to me until he spoke. "Hey you good?" "No I'm not good I am terrified!" "Why?" "Because what if something happens to you or to Chris or to dad and what happens if all of you don't end up coming home. Your were my last hope, I thought maybe just maybe you would be the one to break the cycle. I thought you of all people would have done something different, you do everything else different so why now did you decided to follow the traditions even though you hate them?"
"There's no simple way to say this but I guess I just have never thought about my future without the Army in it. I try to think about a life without the Army in it, but I couldn't think of anything else I wanted to do but be in the Army and follow in our families foot steps." "That is..... That is....Ugh whatever, now your going to leave and never come back. " " Hey wait a minute who said anything about not coming back. I still have to look out for you don't? I don't want a boy coming around and talking advantage of you. But I have a feeling someone else is going take over my job pretty soon. " I looked at him really confused and all I got for an answer was a wink. I shook my head " So your really going to come back everyday? " "Many not everyday but I will be home more often then you think, dad and Chris too!" "Why?" "Because dad is almost done with his service and Chris and I are only going to have four tours instead of seven like dad had." "How did that happen?" "The Army changed the rules so tours are shorter now and some are even hear or just a couple states over." I squealed so loud I think dogs started to howl. I jumped on top of him and gave him a great big giant hug. "Easy there I have to camp in a couple of days."
"When do have to leave." "In a week, I leave Monday and arrive at camp on Tuesday." "Then you come back Sunday right?" "Nope camp last two weeks so I won't be back for you concert on the 3rd." (Oh for though of you who do not know I sing in a choir at my school.) "Oh no it was cancelled, because our teacher is out on maturity leave." "Oh great that means I can make the next one!! " I laugh a little and gave him a smile, John always know how to make me smile that's why he's my favorite, but don't tell Chris that.
After John cheered me up the adults made us go back inside so they could have the outside all to themselves. John and I walked inside to find Chris, Gab, Sam (Gab's little brother), and Carly in the game room yelling at the TV. I walked in first and Carly came and gave me a big hug while asking if I was OK. I nodded and watched them play Call of Duty 3. I sat down by Sam or I call him Sammy he is 13 and just so cute. "Hey Sammy are you winning?" Chris interrupes by saying "No he is losing and he knows it too." Turning his noses up like a five year old, honestly sometimes I think I have a younger brother instead of an older brother. "He's just jealous because him and Gabriel can't beat me at my game." Sammy snickered I ruffed his hair and got up to get some water. "Hey John take my spot I needed some water." says Gab while following after me. "Hey grab me a coke please." Carly called once me and Gab left the game room.
Walking into the kitchen Gab grabbed two glasses from me and him, while I grabbed Carly's coke. "Hey what are doing tomorrow night?" Gab asked me, I was shocked at first because he never ask me what I am doing during the week, because he knows the answer. "I am studying for my entrance exam that are do in two weeks you know that I really want to get into that private school in Cali, but since your asking anyways I will have to pass on your offer." "But you don't know what I am offering just yet?" "Okay what is your offer?" "Well there this party tomorrow and I was wondering if you could spend one night having fun before all the craziness at school starts up? Please it will only be for one night then I will never ask you to take time away from your studies." "Maybe I will, have to think about it." "Awesome you will not regret it." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my drink before heading back to the game room. I walked in calm and collect around Gaberial but on the inside I was freaking out. My nerves were off the chart and I really needed to talk to Carly about it but when I got back she was asleep. So I would have to wait until tomorrow at school since she has to go back to her sisters tonight. When Gab walked back in he sat down next to me on the floor because every other spot was taken. Both of us just watched my brothers play Call of Duty and apparently Sammy feel asleep soon after Carly did and me and Gab were falling asleep as well. The next thing I knew I had my head on Gab's shoulder and Gab's head was on my head. Both of us drifted off to sleep soon after that.
Hey guys and girls how has everyone been. I know I have not posted in awhile but school had been keeping me pretty busy lately and right now this weekend has been my only week off since my college class is about to end!! Super excited about that and I finally update! I think I deserve a whoo, whoo. Haha I am such a nerd something's, anyways chapter 3 done!!! I never thought so would actually make it past chapter 2 but here I am with chapter 3 and Chapter coming up as well. So now here's for an update about the chapters. Right now I am just writing on wattpad and just publishing as I finish on chapter at a time, but now I have thought about writing down a few chapters at a time so that you guys get more chapters and won't be so bored waiting for the next update. Because believe me I know how angry it is when I have to wait for an update on a book that is taking forever to finish. So yeah that's what I think I am going to try and we will see how it goes.
