It has been a few generations since Kipo, the half jaguar mute, has united mutes and (willing) humans, defeated the human resistance and established a safe city for all sentient creatures to enter and live in.
Many things have been built. Thanks to the humans and the wolves, science advanced dramatically. Not like things can float now, but enough science has advanced enough to resemble the scientific age where there was only humans. Cars are a thing now, but they're usually exclusive to the city, and the giant rabbit ride is used for country travel. Every mute and human has contributed in their own way to improve city life.
The city looks almost exactly like the cities depicted in ancient human history books. Tall buildings, blue windows... but they have this golden look to them. The whole city looks like a golden artwork. Kipo was truly a hero, but not all credit should be given to her. Credit also goes to the mute named Dave, humans named Benson and Wolf... but I admire Jamack the most out of their group. I truly look up to him- might be because I myself am a frog mute, like he is, but the stories of his cleverness, personality change, ability to fight... they are amazing. And to contribute in the end when the city was being built to steer the giant rabbits as a driver? I admire him and his service.
Oh. But of course. I cannot forget of the mute called Hugo. Originally known as Scarlemagne, he was a terror across Las Vistas before Kipo appeared and befriended him. Ultimately he sacrificed his life to allow Kipo emerge victorious against doctor Emilia, who wanted to revert all mutes back to... original animals.
Does this sacrifice really clean his share of bloodstains? I would say no, however his sacrifice was noble. He should be respected for coming back around and helping Kipo save our world.I look at his statue in the city center of the new rebuilt Las Vistas. Every time one of Kipo's friends passed away, their figure was added to the statue as well. Now Hugo stands alongside the heroic group, all of them in inspiring poses, facing away from the tall building behind them.
I admire Jamack a little longer, before I shake my head to get myself back to reality.
If a human from the past had to describe the building behind the statues, they would probably say that it looks like a Ps5, but not as long (thus more circular). The long strip of glass between the two slightly outstretched walls glowed blue in the sunlight. The skyscraper walls themselves shined golden in color, like every other repaired building in Las Vistas.
This building was built for Kipo to live in. Currently to this day, it is still used by her descendants. They were usually regarded as an important figure. The current live family members (which passed on Kipo's genes), is the mother Coralina, daughter Amethyst and Coralina's brother, Elijah. There have been rumors lately about the half-mute gene not being strong enough, and that Amethyst is going to be the end for Kipo's half-mute bloodline. It is creating small unrest, especially since Amethyst wasn't successful in her attempts to transform into her jaguar mute self. There are rumors that Coralina is going to put her daughter in danger to force her to half-transform, so they can continue practicing from there. There are many mixed feelings about this rumor.
I am not here for the rumors. I am here for their library, which is open to all for access. The library is huge, rows of rows of bookshelves brimming with books and best of all, it is quiet. Quiet from the world, quiet from duty, responsibility... it is a heaven filled with knowledge of creativity and the past.
I take long strides, and enter the building, nodding a quick hello to the cat secretary before stepping on the elevator and pressing the number 3. Facing the elevator door as it closes, I twiddle my thumbs as I wait the elevator to *ding* its destination.
As it dings and the doors open, I, without hesitation, step into my heaven.
