She was out of breath. Like she was running on her way here.

Izumi: *out of breath* I'm... I'm sorry... there was a traffic jam and... i... i ran 3 miles to get here.
(Y/N): You're still late.
Izumi: I-I'm sorry. Please don't fire me.
I chuckled and went to her and patted her head. She looked at me.
(Y/N): Don't worry, little one. You're not only my assistant. You're my friend.
She pouted at the fact that i called her little. Izumi turned to the equation i was working on.
Izumi: What is this?
(Y/N): Just something i was working on.
She looked at it once again, and then turned to face me.
Izumi: Again?
(Y/N): Indeed. But this time i'm sure that i got it right. If the unifying theories are correct, we will soon be able to harness the power of a black hole! Nothing will ever be the same! I just need to finish it.
Izumi: Are you still going to conduct that experiment at the end of the month?
(Y/N): Of course! My entire career has been devoted to this idea... to this moment.
She looked at the equation once again.
Izumi: Do you think it'll be safe?
(Y/N): Please. It's me we are talking about.

She cheered up a little and went to her desk, as i went back to the equation.
(Y/N): By the way, how's that barrier you were working on?
Izumi: Well, i can make it appear, but the retraction is taking a lot of time.
