Maria's POV:
June twelfth, the day I was dreading, the day my love will be taken away from me. This was it all the time we've spent together all the things we did led to this moment.
"Okay that's everything." I say zipping up his suitcase.
"Thank you." He says grabbing it.
I was at Antonio's house helping him get ready to leave. The atmosphere was gloomy. Although I was happy for him, I mean he worked so hard to get here.
It just the the thought of his presence being gone for so long made my heart ache.
"You ready to go, my moms in the car waiting." Antonio says.
"Yeah."
We walk out to the car and get in, and start the drive to the bus station. We were going to meet Andre, Giovanni, Daisuke and Giselle there so we all could see him off.
"Here." Antonio hands me a box.
"What's this?" I smile.
"Open it and see." He smirks.
I open the box and a look of confusion covers my face.
"A dog tag?" I ask confused.
"Look what's engraved in it." He smiles .
I look at the words to see it said "M + A forever" and underneath it was the date we started dating. My eyes started to tear up from his small gesture he was so good to me.
"Awww stoop I love this." I smile.
"Lemme put it on you." He grabs the necklace and Clips it around my neck.
"Look I have the same one." He shows me pulling it from under his shirt.
"So now, even when I'm gone you can have something to remember me by." He continues.
"Aww these are so cute, you're the best fiancée a girl could ask for." I smile pulling him into a hug.
"Y'all are soo cute, I can't wait till y'all have my gran babies." His mom says looking at us in the back seat though her rear view mirror.
I laugh at her comment, me having a baby? I don't think so, maybe later but not now. Antonio looks at me with a smirk, and I roll my eyes.
"Don't look at me like that lil nasty." I say.
"Don't be so mean mi amor." He flirts leaning in to kiss me on the cheek.
"Okay guys we're here." Valerie says parking the car.
We get out the car grabbing his things but Antonio barely let me or his mom carry anything. He so extra for no reason.
We get to the loading area everyone was already there.
"Hey guys." I smile greeting them.
They greet me and Antonio and we load his bags onto the bus.
"So this is finally it." Antonio says.
"I can't believe my baby is going to the army." Valerie starts to tear up.
"Me too." Giovanni jokes wrapping his arm around Antonio.
"Get off me." He laughs and we smile at their interaction.
"I think it's time for a group hug."Giselle says.
We all crowd around him in a hug and he smiles trying hold back his tears.
"Okay that's enough I'm not trying to cry today." Antonio smiles his eyes swelled up with tears.
He goes to dap up the boys telling them his goodbyes and gives his mom a kiss telling her how much he'll miss her. Valerie was already crying in her sons arms I could tell she was scared for him to leave.
He gives Giselle a hug saying goodbye and I was the last person he gets to. He leans down and kisses me. The salty taste of our tears combined.
"I'm going to miss you so much." I say as I pull away from the kiss.
"You're the best thing that's happened in my life I love you so much." I continue tears falling down my face.
"I love you more than you can imagine Maria." He says kissing me. The kiss was slow and passionate both of us savoring the moment.
He pulls away and starts to walk onto the bus. He waves us goodbye and I wave back me and Valerie holding each other as we cried, watching his bus drive away.
Antonio's POV:
I watch as me and Maria got further and further away from each other. I was going to miss everyone a lot but Maria had a special place in my heart and without her it felt empty. I didn't want to leave her like this but this was what I wanted, this has been my dream since I was little.
The bus ride was long and boring and once we finally made it, it was already night time. I grab my bags and the Sargent leads us to our rooms. There was one person I knew from school and we decided to bunk together.
I put my things up and tape a picture of me and Maria to my bunk bed. Today was going to be a rest day and tomorrow we would work but for now I got to relax.
I missed her already and it hasn't even been a day. But, theses years were going to fly by quicker than I knew and Maria and I will be reunited in no time.
