Loki:

The attack had come out of nowhere, and if he was being honest losing his magic threw him off massively. It didn't help that the guys attacking them had automatic weapons while Rocket's was out of commission due to being based on electronics.

So they were sort of in a losing position, being held at gunpoint with only his knifes and Bucky's gun. Hiding out behind one of the shipping containers. "I thought you were supposed to be an alien powerhouse", Bucky said while sometimes trying to take a shot at the invading enemies.

"Yeah well that's when I have my magic", he growled out, "Damnit how long does this last?", he asked out loud while trying again and again to conjure up something to see if his magic was working again. Nemain's raven was flying around the invading guys, distracting them again and again so they could at least take some of them out.

"That is a mighty useful bird", Rocket said, watching it before ducking back into his hiding spot.

"I'm out of ammo", Bucky said, putting his gun away, "So what now?"

"Stealth mission?", Rocket suggested.

"Stealth mission", Loki nodded.

"I'll distract them", Barns promised and now ran at them, blocking bullets with his arm while Loki and Rocket snuck around to attack and take them down.

At least that's how it was supposed to happen, but another EMP blast send them all flying. Loki got thrown into a wall, hitting his head pretty damn hard and as the world went black, the last sound he heard was a gunshot.

---

When he came to again, he heard screams nearby as the raven was picking on his hair. The next thing he felt was a seething pain in his guts and a dull ache at the back of his head. His vision was still blurry as the Raven hopped down and once again flew into his wound, but this time it didn't seem to be able to heal him like back then on the battlefield.

He tried to adjust his view, see what was happening around him and once he finally managed to see properly, he saw just why he heard continuous screams of agony. Nemain was here, but she wasn't really herself. She looked more like a harpy with feathers springing from her head, her wings that were usually just regular black raven wings somehow had a shade of black to them that seemed to swallow all the light. Strands of shadow were swirling around her and she had stabbed each of the intruding men, torturing them from the sound they made.

"How dare you!", she growled out in a voice he could only describe as demonic, "Hurting the one I love for your petty greed!"

"Holy shit", Rocket said next to him, "Look at that", he pointed to the floor where Nemain's shadows where spreading, slowly inching towards them and rotting everything in their way.

"She's losing control", Loki groaned out, trying to get up even with the wound in his stomach, "Where's Bucky?", he asked, handling himself up the wall.

"Somewhere in that direction", Rocket pointed, "She's your girlfriend right? Can you stop her from destroying the place?", he asked.

"Usually I can", Loki sighed, "But she was never that far gone." Nonetheless he had to try, so he slowly walked towards her. "Nemain! You're overdoing it Love!", he called out to her.

Nemain:

The second she had arrived here, seeing Loki on the ground with a head wound and a gunshot she snapped. The men that tried to kill him were now neatly pierced by her shadows as she slowly started to rot away their insides. Trying to give them the most agonizing death possible. She was so angry that she didn't even notice how her darkness started to consume the world around her until suddenly she heard Loki's voice. "You're overdoing it Love!", he had to yell over the screams of her victims.

Her eyes darted over to him, giving him a quick glance before she focused back on the men. "They hurt you!", she growled out.

"But I'm still here. I didn't die. I'll be fine", he said, staring at the shadow on the ground for a second, obviously arguing with himself if he wanted to touch the stuff or not, in the end he decided to trust their bond, stepping into the darkness where she was, and indeed, the shadows opened up for him, letting him through easily without harming him at all.

"They tried to kill you", she said now, glancing at him again as he came closer.

"They failed", he said, taking step after step, downplaying his injuries. But she could still feel them through the raven that had entered his body, this part of her soul was currently trying to heal up the wound in his guts but with the bullet blocking it, it couldn't, after all Nemain wasn't a healer, she was a Goddess of War, her healing powers being rudimentary at best and it already took all she had to heal the crack on his skull he didn't even know he had.

"They would've succeeded if it weren't for my raven", she growled out just as he reached her.

Loki cupped her face, guiding her to look at him. "But I had your raven with me. I'll always have your raven with me", he softly said, "You have to stop this now Princess. You're scaring the mortals", he smiled lightly.

Her eyes looked behind him, seeing the one that called himself the White Wolf along with the racoon Rocket. Other agents were arriving too, she could feel their presence getting closer.

After taking in this information she turned her attention back to Loki, the movements of her shadows growing less and less erratic. "You'll be fine...", she whispered out, and it wasn't a question, if he got himself medical treatment now he would indeed survive the gunshot wound, her healing powers were able to tell her that much at least.

"I'll be fine", he mirrored the words back to her, smiling as he placed a kiss on her lips, "Will you please stop rotting the building Darling?", he asked her with a lopsided smile.

She took a deep breath, raising her hands and gripping his wrists, feeling the pulse pump blood through his body, her eyes went down to his wound and saw that her raven had stopped the bleeding at least.

Another deep breath and she closed her eyes, pulling the very essence of herself back into herself and out of this world, stopping the rotting however it was probably too late for the people she attacked, they were goners.

"I can't properly heal you with the bullet still inside", she said, deciding to focus on that rather than on how much she went overboard for a few small criminals like that.

"I'll get it fixed. I heard the humans have something on here called doctors", he teased with a grin.

He actually made her chuckle and she leaned her fore on his. "Fury will not let me hear the end of this will he?", she whispered, transforming fully back to her regular self.

Loki pulled her into his hug, gently running a hand through her hair. "We'll deal with it."
