JO MARTINEZ's life was as average as you would expect, if you exclude the fact that she lived at a summer camp in the middle of nowhere in Long Island and her father was a Greek God. Putting that aside, she did live a very normal life compared to other campers. She did not go on life-threatening quests, fight off super deadly monsters or even fellow campers, for that matter. She was as pacific as it could get. She had a few friends who she loved very much, like Annabeth Chase (her pride and joy) and Andrew Langley (her very first camp friend) and had a great relationship with all of her siblings (she had a lot). Even though her life was pretty uneventful, she wouldn't change it. She didn't think she was made for super heroic-like activities like some of her friends were. There wasn't anything revolutionary or game changing about her. But that's what she thought. Other campers might disagree.

PERCY JACKSON had had an interesting (to say the least) past few months. For starters, he was attacked by a monster at a museum, which eventually led to learning his father is a god. Not Jesus (he didn't think), but a Greek God. Turns out they're real? Then, his best friend Grover, who happened to be a half man-half goat situation, and his mother, Sally, were taking him to a summer camp because apparently he was not safe in New York. Basically normal 16 year-old activities. Did he forget to mention that he killed a minotaur? Like from the myths? In his defense, the stupid minotaur had killed his mom and now he was stuck in a stupid bed, in a stupid camp, drinking a stupidly delicious Sally Jackson-homemade-blue-chocolate-chip-cookie drink. What did he do to piss off the gods like this?

CAMP HALF-BLOOD was as chaotic as you can imagine. Having around a hundred kids with powers and battle-like abilities, as well as outgoing personalities could sum up the camp pretty well. There never was a dull moment there, and that was what Jo loved so much about it. She grew up in a pretty boring apartment with her mom from the moment she was born until she was 10 years old, when Jo's mom, Alicia, and her were chased down by a hellhound on the streets of Boston, Massachusetts. Fortunately, she was saved by none other than her satyr friend Grover, who was looking for her anyways. Her mom didn't make it.

Jo's introduction to camp was one of the most depressing things she's ever experienced. She was awestruck with every piece of information she was receiving that day she arrived, but couldn't make herself feel happy or excited about it. She was miserable. Losing her mom was not something she expected to go through ever, let alone when she was still a little kid. She tried her best to be as polite and grateful as she could be with every person that she met at camp because that was what her mom had taught her; you never know what someone's going through or struggling with, the only thing you can control is how kind you can be, how nice, how helpful. How empathic you chose to be. So she put on her happy face and tried to accept her new life with open arms. Sadly, it was easy for everyone to see beyond her facade because every camper had a similar story they had to go through when arriving at camp, so no one blamed her. She got through it and she healed like she always does; maybe an incantation, like an anti-curse. Or even a blessing.

Six years later, she's living at Camp Half-Blood and she's enjoying every second of it. Jo felt like she finally belonged somewhere where she didn't feel like an outcast all of the time. She made friends and was now part of a very weird huge family, and she was happy.

disclaimers!

i don't own Percy Jackson or anything related to it. i only own my original characters and the plots i create with them. all rights go to Rick Riordan.

i'm aging everyone up !! i'm not comfortable making a love story about twelve-year-olds.

english is not my first languaaaage. feel more than free to correct me !! but please be niiiice to me. it's the law.

i'm going to try to make this as original as i can. i adore the pjo books but i'm guessing that if you are reading this you've probably read the original books + a shit ton of other pjo fanfics, so i'll try my best to create a new story. it will follow the plot of the books but i'll add a lot of new scenes, maybe change things up a bit.

mature content ❗️ (swearing, violence, sexual themes (EVENTUALLY... jesus christ) mentions of mental disorders, etc.) i won't overstep with any of these things but if i do i'll make sure to put a tw.

thank you for being here !! hope you have a great day xx
