As the two bandits got to their feet after falling off the carriage they suddenly heard the cries of their other partner coming from the back of the carriage. They quickly ran over to find him with his leg crushed by the treasure chest they stole from the kingdom.
"Get this godforsaken chest off me!" shouted the bandit tugging at his crushed leg.
The other bandit ran over and covered his mouth with his hand.
"Shhhhh bite you're tongue Fredrick," said the bandit "If you keep screaming like that those knights will find us like that".
"I'm sorry Benjamin," said Fredrick "it hurts like hell just get it off of me, please?"
Benjamin signaled for the driver to come over and help him move the chest off of Fredrick and the two managed to drag the heavy chest off of him after that the driver picked up a dagger and started to make his way toward the chest to open it but before he could Benjamin stopped him.
"What in bloody hell do you think you're doing Peter?" said Benjamin while snapping the dagger from his hand.
"What's it look like I'm doing, I'm opening the chest to see the treasure," said Peter.
Benjamin pulled peter to the side.
"Use your fucking brain dumbass if you try and open it now you'll make some noises and the gods only know how far those royal knights are so right now let us just lay low for a while and wait till everything calms down, but for now go outside and get a lay of the land and try to figure out where we are," said Benjamin as he pushed peter out of the back of the carriage.
Peter stumbled out of the carriage almost slipping on the wet grass below him. When he got to his feet he looked around scanning the land to find out that they weren't just off the main road they found themselves in the middle of a dense forest. So dense that it seemed to stretch for miles and miles and miles the trees were so close together that they almost could touch each other's branches and bark. A fog had moved in as well its thick white body looked as if it was a ghost leaving from the graves of the ones who had died. While peter was looking around he couldn't help but shake the feeling that something was off about this forest like sure it was nothing but a dense forest but it also seemed like that type of forest where you could disappear and nobody would find you or figure out what happened to you. Peter felt a cold chill go down his spine as the cold October air blew on him feeling how cold the air was he turned around and went back inside the carriage.
"Did you see anything, anything at all?" said Fredrick while Benjamin was wrapping up his leg with bandages.
"No," said peter.
"Are you sure?" said Benjamin "What about the knights? did you see or hear anything?".
"No i did not see or hear anything and I don't think that those knights would be able to find us out here because these trees around here are so close that there practically touching each other and plus a really heavy fog has moved in so I think that we'll be fine" replied Peter while taking a seat inside the carriage he looked around inside the carriage trying to think about what to do now.
"Okay so now what?" asked Peter while looking at bejamin the leader of the group.
Benjamin paused and thought for a moment while looking outside at the night sky examining it and thinking about what to do now.
"I got it" said Benjamin "we'll rest here for a while so that way we all will have energy before we head out of here but since we'll be sleeping here tonight we might as well hunt a little for food"
"You mean to tell me that i have to spend the night in the back of a broken down carriage with you guys!?" said Fredick not to fund of the idea of sleeping with other men in the back of a carriage.
