Jennie's POV.
"I love it," Jin, my newly appointed editor commended slapping my manuscript on the coffee table between the two of us.
"I think it might be your best work yet. I do have some suggestions."
Jin flipped through my manuscript speaking further on his likes and dislikes when we were interrupted by Roseanne. All of the air in my lungs evaporated as she introduced herself to my editor. She was just as smug and as breathtaking as the day I met her.
She settled in beside me, snaking her around my lower back, crushing us together while forcing Jin and me apart.
I was stunned silent by her action.
Uncomfortable, Jin looked to me and then looked at her before finishing his critiques. He offered plenty of constructive criticism but I knew he was holding back because of Roseanne who had been glaring at him since she arrived.
Jin rushed out final statements before he left us alone.
I stood to my feet shaking his hand. Roseanne did the same.
"He'll probably quit within a week." I told Roseanne as I snuggled into her.
"If he does it's because he just realized there's no chance of him screwing you. I miss her. I didn't have to worry about her eyes wandering down your top."
I laughed off his suspicions. "Babe, he's not interested in me. He has a wife."
She raised her eyebrow shooting me a look reminding me - as if I could forget - I was married when I met her. "Whatever, he's not us." I blurted out.
"You didn't see the way he was staring at you. You never notice when people stare at you."
"That's because I only see you." We share a short sweet kiss that still manages to satiate my ever present need for her. "There is nothing I need that you don't give me."
Truer words had never been spoken.
Roseanne had truly become the woman of my dreams. In the beginning, my insecurities had me worried that I was a phase to her and my charm would wane but she had proven me wrong more than once.
The first few months were the hardest simply because the women of her past had a hard time letting her go. I knew that she had a lot of sex with a lot of different women but seeing them was something else entirely.
They blew up her phone, dropped by her then apartment unexpectedly. Blocking phone numbers wasn't enough. They greeted us at restaurants or we'd run into them on the street or at the gym. Eventually, the harassing women diminished to nothing, and then it was just she and I. Which was when we really got to know each other.
We spent every waking moment together eating, working out, reading, laughing, binge watching television shows, and sex. So much sex was what we had the first few weeks. I swear to God we fucked each other unconsciousness multiple times a day. She remained the most explosive sex I'd ever had and she reclaimed her title often.
My addiction to her reached a whole new level.
Neither of us had a traditional nine-to-five, which meant that we had all the time in the world to explore each other in and out of bed. And we did.
Since selling the club, Roseanne started dabbling in a bit of everything searching for her niche but music suited her the most and I think she agreed. She was still attending therapy a few times a week.
A handful of times a month we go to couples counseling.
Both of us still have a lot to learn about trust and commitment. An ongoing battle that we're fighting slowly but surely. Roseanne hasn't touched a cigarette since we moved into our new apartment.
