A Birthday To Remember

Constant banging wakes up Heather from her sleep this time. Open her eyes a crack she immediately realises she doesn't have her glasses on by how blurry everything is.

"Girl! Wake up! Breakfast won't make itself!" Vernon shouts before pounding on the cupboard door again. Opening her eyes fully, Heather pats around until he finally finds her glasses and puts them on.

Looking down at her body, she sees herself in her nearly 11 year-old body. Puffing out a breath, she quickly gets changed into some of Dudley's oversized hand-me-downs. After getting dressed, she quickly makes her way out of the cupboard knowing Dudley will jump on the stairs otherwise.

During her cooking, she thinks about how she will go about her new life. She definitely needs to learn about Wizarding traditions and proper Pureblood etiquette. Finishing up the full English breakfast, she plates it and puts the three plates down then goes back for her Uncle Vernon's black coffee before he can shout at her.

Placing his coffee down, she then gets Petunia's tea and Dudley's juice before going and cleaning the kitchen not paying attention to the tantrum Dudley is throwing.

While cleaning, she sees a cupcake with a note from Thanatos:

There are candles in the drawer below. Let him see you wish him a Happy Birthday.

Quickly putting a candle into the cupcake and lighting it, she walks into the living room. "Dudley, Happy Birthday. I baked it last night when you went to sleep. Sorry I couldn't get you more." She sheepishly explains as she passes the sweet treat to her cousin.

He smiles. A genuine smile to her before blowing the candle out and eating it rather quickly.

"I'm sorry Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon. There weren't enough ingredients for more I just thought it would be nice for Dudley." Keeping her head down, Heather didn't see a shocked Petunia looking at her.

After that, Vernon roughly grabs her arm and drags her out into the front garden. "We are going to the zoo for Dudley's birthday. You will not disgrace us are we clear freak?" He spits in her face making it clear she isn't apart of the family.

"Yes Uncle Vernon Sir. I'll stay quiet you won't even know I'm there. It's Dudley's day after all." Heather replies in a meek voice remembering what happened in her past life.

With a satisfied nod, he shoves her into the car before getting in himself followed by the last two family members. Heather looks at Dudley and sees a piece of his cupcake on his cheek. "Dudley? You have a bit of frosting on your cheek. I'm thinking of the pictures you might take."

Again, Dudley smiles at her and wipes his face before licking his fingers like the pig he is but Heather remains with a small smile on her face happy that something good came from this morning.

Once arriving at the zoo, the family of three and the 'freak' slowly make their way around all the enclosures. Near the end of the tour is the reptile enclosures so Heather just keeps her head down and doesn't say a word, just making sure she follows.

At the reptile enclosure is when Heather actually lifts her head and looks around. Finding the Boa tank is easy as it is one of the largest.

Standing in front of the fake sleeping snake Heather has a peaceful smile.

$Hello Nagini. You can stop faking sleep. I won't hurt you$ Heather says in a quiet hiss making sure not to draw attention.

$ah a young speaker. But how do you know my name? You speak it with such fondness I haven't heard in a while$

$Its because I've been reborn so I know who your master is. I need you to find him. Find Tom or Quirrell who is hosting his soul or maybe Lucius Malfoy at a last resort. He will need you$

$Go to my Tomling and then wait? I guess his soul is a bit all over the place young one$ Nagini muses to herself looking as if she is thinking everything through.

$If you see him or his soul before me, explain me and him have a mutual enemy in Dumbles. I will explain at a later time pretty one$

And with that, Heather concentrates on vanishing the glass. She moves hand forward and it goes straight through. With a nod to the snake, Heather continues walking not wanting to make a big fuss over the escaping large snake.

Finding her family again, she continues walking with them as if she didn't stop at an enclosure and follows them back to the car.

At home, she starts dinner not even talking as she isn't allowed to. Making a decent sized dinner, Heather serves her family quickly making herself a cheese sandwich before going back to her cupboard.

Looking at her cupboard, she quickly backs everything into a bag. Maybe if she has a guardian she can leave some stuff out so it looks lived in....

Leaving some clothes and second-hand broken toys out, Heather goes to sleep impatiently waiting for tomorrow.
