Chapter 13

Lance had walked back into the main house and into his bedroom to find Ava sitting up in the bed.

"Hey where were you?" Ava asked.

"Checking on Massiah." Lance answered taking off his shoes.

"What's wrong with her?"

"Nothing she was on her way to bed."

"Lance can we talk?" She watched as Lance sat down.

"Lance we've been best friends over 13 years. And married for five. Our friendship was beyond amazing. We could talk to each other laugh with each other and even come to each other for advice. I miss that."

"Ava I miss that too. I think about what we had every day."

"Lance I told you when we were friends that I could never see myself married. I don't want you to waste your time on this marriage and its not going anywhere. I always told you, you need someone who dont mind stay in the box I'm not her."

Lance laughed because back when they were friends he always compared Ava to a Jack in the box. She was always the wild one ready to explore.

"What do you want to do?"

"What's right for the both of us. A divorce."

"Okay Ava and you know I'll always love you."

"I know we'll still remain friends." Ava said hugging him.

"Ava?"

"Yes!?"

"I've been sleeping with Massiah." Lance said as he looked at her.

"How long was you going to wait to tell me?"

"That's the thing I don't know if I was."

"So why you telling me now?"

"Because I'm in love with her."

"You sure?"

"Yea I'm pretty sure."

"We'll then I'll handle the papers tomorrow."

"I'm sorry Ava."

"For what?"

"For this. These five damn years. My mother and her ways. I guess everything."

"Lance these five years wasn't bad at all. Its not like we were out cheating. Or we always fought. No our relationship was okay but we was just greater as friends.

"So you never cheated on me?" Lance asked.

"No not ever well yes I did a couple of days ago." Ava said.

"With who?"

"Lance I know she told you so shut up." Ava said playfully pushing him.

"Yea she did. Why you didn't tell me you like girls" Lance asked laughing.

"Well I kinda knew but then I didn't. And I like boys I just couldn't sleep with you like that because we were best friends and it felt weird to me."

"Sooo what made you try her?"

"I don't know she was gorgeous and fine."

"I guess we is homeboys huh. Fucking with the same girl."

"Yea you just the soft asx falling in love with her." Ava said as she burst out laughing.

"Ha got jokes."

"No but She's a cool girl and you guys would make a good couple."

"Ight well we can handle our business in the am."

"Okay. Good night" Ava said getting out of bed.

"Were you going?"

"The other room. Niggah we friends you can't be all up on this good shit." Ava laughed and walked out. Lance looked at her and smiled. Ava had always been a cool person every one just missed judged her.
