Charlie Rodriguez lives in Los Angeles, California. She is the eldest daughter of the Rodriguez family but prefers to avoid her loud and crazy relatives. A tomboy who speaks her mind, she is a huge soccer fanatic, especially of her favorite team, the LA Galaxy. Charlie is pursuing her master's degree in sports management at UCLA. She works as a limo driver, where she meets Marco Garcia and eventually becomes the head coach of LA Galaxy. She attends every one of their games, sitting all the way at the top. In her spare time, she coaches the soccer team at her local church.

Marco Garcia is a flamboyant Spanish tycoon who owns the LA Galaxy. He appointed Charlie as the new head coach because he admired her personality and passion for soccer. Though he doesn't understand soccer, he tries to boost the team's popularity with extravagant "American" style promotions, like grand entrances. He has a son and a daughter (soon).
