6. Villager B Part 2

Sorry for the lack of an update last weekend. It was me and my boyfriend's anniversary. It's technically on Halloween but I had school so we did it a bit early. Anyway, to make up for missing a weekend, here's an early update! Now, onto the story.

| The Next Day |

"Word from Ogi Nishi High is that they'll arrive around 4:30," Coach Ukai says.

"Okay!"

Kiyoko and Yachi were busy setting up chairs while you were helping set up the net.

"(Y/n), come here for a second," Ukai waves you over.

"What is it?"

"A little late, but here's your uniform. Unlucky if you ask me, but it'll be okay. I want you to do extra warm ups too, okay? Really loosen up that leg. Can't have you reinjuring it."

"Yes, Coach." You didn't really think now was the time to mention the reoccuring aches.

"I'm going to sub you in today since this is a pracitce game. I want to see how you perform and play with the others. This isn't some test or anything, so don't fret. Sound good?"

"Sounds good," you agree, grabbing your uniform and walking back to the others.

Hinata's cheeks were red from where he had just slapped himself in the face.

"We are not gonna lose today!" His face was dead serious.

"Um, today is just a practice game, right...?" Yachi asks, tilting her head.

"Yeah..?"

"And your field trip to Tokyo is just for pratice games too, right? Why study so hard and get all worked up for games that don't count?" She asks.

"Huh? I wanna get better and win. That's why." Hinata gave her his terrifying blank stare.

"You're probably not going to get a straight answer from him, Yachi." You chime in.

"Oh, um.. okay. I guess everyone has their own reason for wanting to win," she laughs and rubs the back of her neck.

"Reason? For winning?" Hinata still had his blank stare face on. "Do you really need a reason to not want to lose?"

Yachi flinched. Hinata didn't realize how intimidating he could be sometimes.

"Little love, don't be so-"

"Kageyama!" he yells, interrupting you. "Do you know what kinds of reasons people might have for not wanting to lose?"

"Huh?" Kags looked at him like he was dumb. "Don't ask me. If you're hungry, do you really need a reason to go eat?"

"That's a good point.." hinata puts his finger on his chin.

Yachi looked at you dumbfoundedly. "So this is on the same level as basic desires like appetite?"

You shrug. "Sounds about right for those two."

Yachi laughs awkwardly at Hin and Kags. "Sorry, that was an inane question, wasn't it."

"What's inane mean?" They both ask.

Tsuki whips around to yell at them. "Something that lacks significance, meaning or import. Something dumb or stupid. We just went over that vocab word!!"

You snicker. "Uh oh, you two go in trouble. Dumb asses."

Before either of them could retort, Ogi Nishi arrived. "Excuse us!!"
