If Amelia Cooper could be anywhere else in this moment, she would.

She never truly understood the idea of walking up a flight of stairs and being stopped at every step by loud and nosy paparazzi searching for the perfect shot with the right angle.

Amelia would much rather be cuddling Terk (her stubborn but still super cute and energetic dog), Scar or Mufasa (her cats) or laying down with her sister on the couch while both of them quietly scrolled through her phones or in the studio with Dylan trying to work on the album that her label was pressuring her so much about.

Literally, anywhere else.

"You still there, babe?" The voice of her boyfriend coming from her phone made Amelia snap out of her thoughts.

"Yeah, sorry." She sighed, "I'm just nervous about today." Not entirely a lie. It was her first big fashion event —besides the runaways.

"Do you want me to go meet you in your hotel? Jake can wait a little bit before we head out." Nicholas asked but his voice showed how much he didn't want to do what he said.

"No, no." Amelia shook her head and received a scolding look from her makeup artist who was trying to work on her eyes, "It's okay, I'll be fine. Go and have fun with Jake."

"Alright, babe." Amelia sighed in relief so softly that Nick didn't seem to notice, and for a second she thought she heard him do the same, "I'll talk to you later, ok?"

"Ok." Amelia grabbed her phone from the table in front of her, "We talk later."

"I love you."

"You too," Amelia muttered and disconnected the call.

Amelia looked at the wallpaper on her phone and sighed for the third time in less than ten minutes. All because Nicholas Walker was a sweet guy.

Amelia and Nick's relationship started as a PR move. It was good for her, who had just released her debut album and good for him, who had starred in one of the biggest movies of his career.

But they ended up catching feelings for each other not too long after the beginning of their "relationship".

Amelia knew that Nicholas' feelings were love — romantic love. But sometimes she wondered if her own feelings matched his.

Like on their first kiss when she almost backed away because when she closed her eyes all she heard was echoes of 'don't kiss him, he's your best friend'.

But again, Nicholas was a sweet guy. He made the whole 'let's pretend to the whole world we are together easy'. He was a lovable person and yet Amelia couldn't love him as a lover.

But honestly, she was scared to break his heart.

She wasn't happy about being in a romantic relationship with him anymore but he was nice and caring to her (sometimes)

And their contract was due in eleven months. She could handle eleven more months.

And this time, unlike the last year, she was going to end the whole thing.

Their original contract was supposed to be for one year only and end on June 2015, but Nick insisted on continuing the deal for one more year.

Around that week, Amelia almost called everything off. But Nick promised it would just be for one more year.
