"Elise Solace! Get in the car,'' my mother screams from the garage.
"Alright coming!'' I scream back after finishing packing my bag and grabbing a box to put on the truck. I go downstairs to the kitchen and put two Eggo waffles in the toaster and run to the garage to put my bag on the car's backseat.
"Look who finally decided to show up," my mother says with a little bit of annoyance.
I frown and put the stuff I have on the car and go my way back to the kitchen while I see my mom entering the car to get things organized for the car trip.
I enter the kitchen and I look at it for the last time while getting the waffles out of the toaster and putting it in a bag. I will miss this kitchen; I remember everything that I've done here since I was little. I have so many memories that I would never trade for anything here but sadly I need to go.
I grab the bag and get an apple juice box to drink on the way out I look back one last moment to the house and say out loud, "Bye bye house."
I enter the brand-new red car that my mom got, and we leave the neighborhood with the sunset touching the ground.
While in the car my mom can probably see my frowned face because she looks at me in the eye using that little mirror on the roof of the car that I always forget the name of.
"Sweetie, I am sure you will like this new home it has a giant room and bathroom for you, and we will be able to customize however you want it!" my mom said trying to get me more excited.
I decided to smile to make her feel better, and it worked well. She looked less stressed after seeing my smile which made me happier
After 3 hours we finally got there, it was an apartment not a house like in my hometown but surely an experience. My room is not that big and because I am now living in a rented apartment, I probably can't customize my room however I want so, it's the opposite to what my mom said but no problem, and me being too exhausted and went straight to bed.
Next day I went through our weird empty hallway to see my mother in the living room looking at an interesting email with a big symbol on it so obviously me being super cautious I snuck behind my mom to find out horrible news.
"Oh, hi Eli!" She said noticing me "I have super big news to tell you!"
I sadly already knew that the news was not going to be good, but I simply decided to accept my fate and said:
"Oh, what could that be?" with a bit of sarcasm hidden in my voice.
My mom replied excitedly, "I found a school that will accept you with all kinds of art programs and the uniforms are so cute!"
I was deeply hoping that my mom wouldn't find a school already because I wanted to be homeschooled this year, I would be joining at the end of middle school which is when everyone already knows everyone, and I would be alone all year.
"Let me see the school site," I sit down beside her and move the computer more to my side so I could see more clearly. The school was super fancy, it looked like the schools in movies, and is a school that offers education all the way from pre-k to 12th grade, which makes me even more anxious. After all most kids are probably at that school for their whole life.
"Mom, I don't like this school very much," I say looking at the screen to avoid eye contact. "Maybe I could do home schooling again."
She did not look happy with that answer at all. She looked worried and replies, "Sweetheart, I can't do home school for you this year for multiple reasons. One, I don't know anyone that is a teacher to homeschool you here yet, two I want you to make friends. Three, the education in this school is winning from miles away with you compared to homeschooling. Please do it for mommy and for your benefit," she finished her sentence looking apologetic.
