What if I told you none of it was accidental?
And the first night that you saw me
Nothing was gonna stop me

Aemond watched as you curtsied before his mother dressed in the finest royal blue satin dress, embroidered delicately with a dark green thread. Your hair was perfectly styled with two braids starting at both temples that wrap around to the back of your head, cascading down with the rest of your free flowing locks.

"It's wonderful to see you once again," Alicent greeted you with a smile. "You've grown into a fine young woman."

You smiled back at the queen ever so politely. "You're too kind, your Grace."

Next you turn to Aemond himself and curtsied again. When you rose, Aemond made sure to grasp your hand and bring your knuckle to his lips for a soft kiss. "My mother is quite right, Lady Strong, you're much more beautiful than I remember," he compliments.

Your heart flutters at the prince's kindness. "Thank you, my prince. But I'm afraid we were mere children when I saw you last."

He chuckles, "Yes, yes we were."

"My apologies, Prince Aemond," your older brother Larys interrupts, looping your arm with his. "I have important matters to discuss with my sister."

"Of course," Aemond replied curtly before turning back to you. "I look forward to becoming acquainted with you once more, Lady Strong."

"As do I, my prince," you respond with a sweet smile.

I laid the groundwork, and then
Just like clockwork
The dominoes cascaded in a line

Soon after your arrival in King's Landing the tourneys celebrating the upcoming birth of Aegon and Helaena's first babe begun. You spent your days catching up with Helaena. Despite the girl's strange interests in insects, you befriended the 'strange' Targaryen girl when the two of you were children as she was the only other girl in court around your age. You regrettably lost touch with her upon your return to Harrenhal before your one and tenth name day.

"I've never seen one with such colors before." You comment, pointing to the newest caterpillar Helaena has cupped her hands together to show you.

"Yes, he's quite beautiful, isn't he?"

Aemond watched the two of you sat in the grass of the gardens underneath the shade of the trees. You'd brought a large book on the histories of Old Valyria to read to Helaena along with sweet treats prepared by the bakers in the kitchens. The kindness you'd shown to Helaena since the three of you were children Aemond say the kindness you extended toward his sister and it quickly became one of the many things that drew him to you.

From the moment his eye was taken he drew himself father from you, afraid of what you might think of his new scar. The other ladies of the court revolted away from him at the sight of his face after the accident. After the night he claimed Vhagar, everything about him changed. Not only did he have to adjust to life with only one eye, but everyone looked at him differently. Everyone besides Alicent and Helaena of course. He believed there was no way you would possibly love him with the hideous jagged scar down the side of his face.

But he was a boy no longer. he knew what he wanted and there was nothing— no one who could keep you from him now.

Aemond approached the two of you. "Sorry to interrupt sweet girls," he began," but I was hoping to steal Lady Y/n for a moment if it's alright?"

You turned to Helaena to make sure it was okay and she just smiled and nodded for you to go. Aemond helped you up to your feet then looped your arm into his as he began to lead you out of the gardens and back into the castle.
