Xiao thoughtlessly paced up and down, waiting for the time to pass when he had just helped a small village with a hilichurl problem.
He thought he didn't really care and yet he listened silently for his name.On the same day he went into this cave with a group of different people and his memories of his past caught up with him again. Actually, he had no interest in bumping into anyone again after this event, and yet..
Expectantly he walked up and down the rock from which he had a good view of the little village in front of him.
As the sun began to set, residents also had to go home to their families and spend time with their loved ones. His job was only to make sure that there were no further inconveniences with dangerous creatures and that everyone could finish their day safely. He looked down at the little flowers closing their blooms for the night and sat down slightly impatiently, still listening for the call of his name which was promised to him.
The sky was just beginning to change from its orange hue to a more dark blue as the sun was already beginning to disappear into the sea, illuminating only tiny remnants of the sky, when Xiao suddenly thought he heard a faint voice in the distance.
He listened with expectant ears and then heard a definite call to his name and got up from his seat before beginning to move completely to a different spot. The yaksha followed the direction from which the sounds came and in a few seconds he was somewhere else.
As his vision cleared, he saw Aether, eyes wide with shock and taking a step backwards. Xiao, noticing the effects of his quick step, leaned forward with his arms crossed and looked the traveler straight in the eyes with a critical look and expression.
