[First person p.o.v]

Months went by without anything happening.
Everything was normal now and I didn't have to worry about living in the system. Amelia and I now live in a small house I got from my family's inheritance. It is out on its own close to the forest, but not too far from a nice little town. With our new found living arrangements, Little Flower has been doing well. She likes being able to play outside whenever she wants and having space to run.

We haven't gone back to the house due to it being investigated, but the case is growing cold. Honestly I never wanna go back to that hell hole, we're doing just fine here. Amelia and I have been doing well on our own, and I already replaced toys that she enjoyed. I work and provide everything she needs and give her the love any child like herself deserves. I do my best to be the best parent figure I can for her. Being her older brother and giving her what I never had is a goal I'm going to fulfill, no matter what troubles I run into.

Yesterday I took off work to stay with my Little Flower, she wasn't feeling too well. She really wants her sketch book and crayons, and generally misses her comfort toys. But since we can't get them at the moment she's been busying herself with her 'friend' and new things I've gotten for her and she's been given. She's a smart kid, and I'm glad we've had no trouble besides her being a little sad about the situation all together. I am doing my best.

Looking out the back door, I smile. Content fills my heart as I watch her laugh and run around chasing a butterfly and talking to a 'friend' of hers. I'm pretty sure it's normal for kids to have imaginary friends. Either way, as long as she's not getting hurt or anything, I think it's fine, but I'll keep my eye on her just in case.

With a yawn I go to the kitchen. Mindlessly making food for Amelia. I'm glad she's ok. Maybe our new life will be the best one we ever will have. I sure hope so.

Her little 'friend' seems to make her very happy. The only thing i worry about is how she keeps getting candy. We have nice neighbors but they wouldn't give her candy. They don't have candy in their house for long, due to their own children. When they get it it's always shit like snickers or kit Kats. Chocolate product's with, sometimes, caramel.

They don't have the hard colorfully wrapped candies she always seems to get in the stores from what I've seen.. Mm.. I just need to keep an eye on her. That's the best thing to do in this case. If things get worse I'll have to call the police. I sure it isn't severe though.

Plating the omlet i made and setting it on the table. I make my way to the back where Amelia runs, playing happily.

'Hey! Love bug come eat!' Making my voice loud, I call out as I poke my head out the door.

My yelling got her attention and succeeded in getting her to come inside the house.

'thank you bubba!'

She happily runs and heads strait to the table. Sitting and munching down happily on the food I had just finished. Today has been quiet. I'm glad this will make work easier for me mentally.
