Clarke is in love with Lexa.
And the whole world seems to know but Lexa herself.
It's not even like Clarke is trying to hide it either. She's been more than obvious about it. She's pretty much done everything except tell her outright.
Even their friends are starting to feel sorry for her. She assumed the constant 'heart eyes' (as Raven would call it) she threw at her would be more than enough of a hint.
Or the daily iced coffee she gives her every morning when Lexa picks her up so they can go to school together. The smile Lexa gives back definitely makes up for the extra 15 minutes she could've spent sleeping but instead was spent making said iced coffee exactly the way she knew Lexa liked it. She considered pouring some sort of love potion in it once but then shook her head at how ridiculous the idea was.
Or how she would willingly give Lexa some of her food during lunch with a bright smile but if anyone else asks, usually Raven, all they get is a scowl and her hissing out 'mine' while clutching on the food. Some would say she resembled that creepy weird creature in Lord of the rings that said 'my precious' a lot.
Or how she blushed like crazy when someone would assume there were together.
Or how she would then get quiet and sulky when Lexa would correct the person and say they were just friends.
Needless to say, she could not be any more obvious than she is.
"What do I do?" She asked aggravatedly. She was laying on her bed facing the ceiling with her phone on her stomach. She had Raven and Octavia on a three-way call.
"I honestly don't know anymore Clarke," Octavia said.
"For real! Like how dense can you be to not figure it out by now?" Raven added on.
Clarke remained silent staring at her ceiling.
She spoke after a while,
"You know," she started picking up her phone from her stomach as she stood up. "Maybe she's doing it on purpose."
"On purpose? What are you on Griffin?" Raven remarked.
"No think about it," Clarke walked to her desk and sat down. "Maybe she just doesn't like me. And you know Lexa, she's too nice to ever say anything that could possibly hurt me. Maybe this is just her way of telling me she isn't interested without having to reject me."
It hurt to say it. Hearing it out loud somehow made it make more sense than when it was all in her head. Based on the silence from her phone, she knew she had a point.
"Clarke," Octavia said quietly after a beat.
"No, it's ok," Clarke said with a sad smile, more trying to convince herself than her friends. "I'm good. I guess it's finally time for me to get over this. Just wished I didn't waste so much time making a fool of myself." She tried laughing but it came out sounding strained. And the other two knew. "Anyway, I gotta go. My mom's calling me to dinner. But see you guys tomorrow at school." She hung up before the other two could say anything else.
She sighed and dropped her head on the desk causing a loud thud to echo in her silent room.
"Are you ok, Clarke?" She heard her mom speak through the door. She raised her head then and replied,
"I'm good, mom. Just dropped my book."
"Ok honey. Dinner will be ready in a few."
She heard her mom descending the stairs as she sighed again. She opened her sketchbook and flipped through it. It was pretty much all of Lexa or things relating to her. When she stopped at a particular sketch of Lexa smiling with the words 'I love your smile' below it, she sighed again for what felt like the millionth time tonight,
