(UNEDITED)
Jisung stayed still for what felt like an eternity as he placed his ear towards the opening to see if he could hear anything. Nothing could be heard from outside.

The boy wanted to scream for Minho but he didn't want to risk anything at the moment so he continued to stay silent. Jisung flinched as he felt the crate move once again but this time the road almost felt like it was rolling against rocks and rougher grounds than before. He could only hear the rolling wheels squeak as they passed the harsh floor.

Jisung felt himself stop moving before he heard the latch of the crate flick open. The box opens revealing the brightness that the boy had to adjust to before he saw Minho's figure standing above him. "Come on," Minho says gesturing for Jisung to get out of the box. The younger boy sits up and gets off before Minho pushes his head down, "stay low, someone could see you" the boy says as he places his hand behind Jisung's back guiding him to a corner of the room away from the windows.

Minho covers the windows with the curtains while making sure that no one had seen them enter the room. The older boy locked the door and finally turns on the lights to brighten the dark room. "Where are we?" Jisung asks holding himself in the corner afraid to move.

"My cabin, but we are still surrounded by multiple so we still need to be quiet," Minho says looking over at the boy. Jisung remained silent as he could just look at the older boy.

The older boy finally realized that Jisung was feeling uncomfortable so he steps forward but it was almost like the younger boy scattered more toward the corner. Minho could only stand in place as he placed his hands together in front of him with an unexplainable look on his face, "Jisung, I'm going to need you to pay close attention, you can ask questions later but I need you to trust me on this one okay?" the older boy asks his voice toning down in emotion.

The younger boy looks up at him for a few minutes before nodding his head.

"Hyunjin is not dead" he confesses.

Jisung's eyebrows knit together once he heard those words exit Minho's mouth. The boy wanted to ask questions but the only way to get the answers was to allow Minho to continue talking.

"Hyunjin was taken by the authorities to this institution for the protests and gatherings he was creating, he was beaten up and tortured horribly. I was left in charge of him but I couldn't dare hurt him in any way possible. I decided to help him pass the border to the west in hopes that he would have a second chance" Minho states the tone in his voice becoming somewhat faded.

"I tried covering it by telling the hospital he was assigned to alert authorities and relatives that he had died due to hemorrhage. I made a promise with Hyunjin before he defected, and that was to get you out as well" the boy says.

"My brother is alive?" Jisung asks his head almost peeking up from the corner he sat in. Minho nods his head, "from what I'm aware, he made it past but I have been unable to contact him since then" the military man states.

"I made a promise with your brother Jisung, and I'm going to do it"

These words almost caused Jisung's heart to flutter in place, it was a confusing emotion but it was there.

"But how? This place is locked with security, it's almost impossible to go in and out" Jisung asks.

"Just trust me," Minho says while walking away into another room and coming back with a wooden box. The boy walks closer to the younger boy with hesitant steps before kneeling in front of him. "Let me clean your cuts for you since I caused them," the general says taking out some alcohol pads and gently wiping away the blood on Jisung's face.

Jisung wanted to say something but instead, he kept his mouth shut while he looked at Minho's face while the boy cleaned his wounds. The unexplainable feeling didn't go away get but Jisung was starting to get a sense of it, was it warmth? Comfort? It was still unclear. After so long, this is what it felt like to have someone take care of you.

Jisung looked into the general eyes, the black marbles that were surrounded by spotted white. It was almost looking at a black hole out in space, surrounded by millions of stars. He didn't know what it was but something inside him told me to let go, let go of the guard he has been holding onto for years since losing his brother.

"Do you think I will ever see him again?" Jisung asks out of nowhere.

Minho stays silent for a while dapping the pad with more alcohol. "You will see him again, I assure you".

The younger boy took off into space for some long minutes before looking back up at the older boy who was busy peeling a band-aid. "Why are you helping us?" Jisung asks his voice becoming quiet. Minho finally stops doing what he was doing and looks at the blue-haired boy. The boy opened his mouth but before words can come out, a loud bang came from outside.

Minho quickly grabbed Jisung by the hand and took him into one of the rooms, "stay under" Minho whispered gesturing under the bed. Jisung followed the boy's order and ducked down disappearing under the hanging bed sheet.

The boy could hear Minho walk to the front door and open it.
