Chapter 6: Scarlet
Scarlett stepped to the side and I waited for what was to come. Usually whenever Scarlett and I meet we don't always end on good terms. Out of nowhere a howl could be heard within the school.
Right then I knew that all was not over.
The sound of the howl seemed to cause everyone to freeze. We all knew what it meant. Another Alpha was near and he was not happy. Usually when there were two alphas on one territory, a fight breaks out. If there would ever be the need, killing would be condoned.
Sadly my mate mattered more and I needed to find her quickly. Man was I a sucker for trouble. Maybe next time I subbed it would be when I'm old and grey after having a few kids. That way I could at least die with a trustworthy successor to take my place.
"Scarlett could you by any chance not kill me until I've killed that guy and had a couple kids?"
"Eh, I don't really care. So long as your head is on my wall at some point in time." She shrugged and turned in the direction of the cafeteria. I headed towards the front entrance and hoped that it would be an easy Alpha kill.
Sadly luck was not on my side.
