I laid on 'my' bed, staring at the ceiling fan as it creaked above me, spinning ever so slightly. I felt a small sigh slip from my lips, calm and content.

I don't know how long I've been waiting for them to call me back,

I know I had time to clean the blood out of the carpet, and hide the body. I tried to hide it somewhere no one would look.

I didn't want anyone to find it. Not now.

I felt my eyes become heavy as I continued to think, drifting deeper and deeper into my thoughts. Silence filled the space around me, a staticy silence calling my name, begging me to delve deeper.

Did they usually take this long? Or did I fail at-

I jolted up, being ripped away from my thoughts by the ringing of the phone beside me. I faced it, staring for a second, unable to react. I reached out eventually, picking up the phone.

"Hello?" I asked into the static.

"Hey Y/N."

"Oh, hey Adam." I smiled to myself, "How's it going?"

"I'm- I'm doing good, You?"

I went quiet for a second, "I'm okay I think, what's up?"

Adam went silent on the other end for a second, before piping up again, his voice heaving an odd aura to it.

"I was just calling to let you know, you're in."

"Oh- wait, really?!" I acted surprised.

"Yeah, if you still want to."

My smile grew across my face,"I do! Oh- thank you! You don't know how much this means to me!"

"Yeah, okay." His words trailed on, "Look, if you really want this, you- you're going to have to leave everything behind."

Me and him went silent for a few seconds, the phone static ringing between us both.

"So," he continued, "Are you willing to- y'know-"

I pretended to hesitate, "Well- uhm-" I went quiet before answering him, "I- I think I still want to do it, even if-" my words trailed off.

"Okay, where do you want to meet up?"

"Uhh," I thought for a second, "How about where we first met?"

"Sounds good."

"Yeah, just let me pack up and I'll be there."

"Okay, just don't take too long."

"I wouldn't dream of it, see you there." I grinned, joy in my words.

Adam hung the phone up quickly, leaving it to beep endlessly until I set the phone down, pulling myself off of the bed. I stretched my limbs, letting them take a more humanoid form as I stood up. I pulled myself together quickly, pulling a bag out from under my bed. It was a backpack, and pretty simple looking, but pretty big on the inside. The colors did look nice together.

I sat the bag on my bed, letting it sit there as I went through my closet, pulling out some clothes, enough to be believable. I set them beside the backpack, going over to the dresser beside my bed.

I pulled out the drawing notebooks from under the main drawer, setting them in my bag along with some pencils and erasers. I then opened the drawer, looking for what O/Y/N had left.

A voice recorder, the headphones that came along with it,

And a knife.

I held the knife in my hand, staring at it for a few seconds before placing the two items in my bag, pushing them down to the bottom, hiding under the clothes and notebooks. As I zipped up the bag, I couldn't help but notice a strange instinct dwelling in my chest, one I couldn't name. I slung the bag over my shoulder, brushing the feeling off as nothing. I turned to the door, leaving the room quickly, stepping into the living room.
