"I am so profoundly sorry your Grace, I must have not been paying attention to my surroundings." I spewed out like word vomit.

I quickly picked myself up and then made sure to curtsey, directing my eyes to the ground. I didn't want to do any further insult than what I have already.

"I can't believe I just ran into the prince, Gunthar was right about me not paying attention to where I was going was going to come back and bite me in the rear one day." I rambled on inside my head while I was trying to maintain composure on the outside.

It was when I gather some courage to look up that I noticed the Prince seemed to be enjoying my inner turmoil and when I stood straighter I could see the hint of a smirk forming on his handsome chiseled face.

Seeing this made my blood start boil, he probably thought that I was nothing to him, just a lowly servant girl who wasn't watching where she was going. He probably didn't even know how much work all the servants in the palace did each day just to please him and his family. I tried to bite my tongue but I couldn't hold my thoughts back for much longer.

"Is there something that amuses you, your grace? Or is running into servants and knocking them to the ground a sport to you?" Once the words fell from my lips I immediately placed both hands over my mouth before anything else was uttered out.

The words just spewed from my mouth before I could even stop them. I was hoping that it did not show me being cross with the prince, but by the look on his face I don't think it came off as pleasing either.

He looked taken back for a split moment, but still said nothing.

"Well it was nice working here while it lasted, I just couldn't keep my mouth shut like Gunthar had told me, oh I bet the old hobbit would get a kick out of this, I just had to open my big sarcastic mouth."

Just when I thought he was going to order guards to come throw me out of the palace walls I heard an amusing chuckle. Why was there laughter? This is not a laughing matter moment.

I looked up to see that the Prince's smirk had turned into a full smile that made his eyes crinkle in the corners along with a dimple on his right cheek. " Did you know when your upset your cheeks turn rosy pink in color?"

That was not what I was expecting to hear coming from the princes mouth, so I just stared at him completely perplexed.

"Um thank you your grace?" I said not entirely sure that was the appropriate response. In fact this whole situation was completely out of the norm.

I was thinking he would get angry and tell me how dare I speak to royalty that way, not laughter. Hearing the sound of his laughter did make my heart jump slightly, I have no idea why though. I just stood there not really knowing what to do next, I pinched my own arm to ensure myself that this was indeed real and not some side effect of a witches brew someone slipped into the drinking water.

Should I curtsey again? I wasn't sure where to place my hands so I just placed them at my sides griping the length of my uniform to keep from fidgeting. I am sure from an on looker's point of view it would seem that I am having some sort of stroke.

He must have sensed my confusion at his statement as he carried on." Sorry it's just that not a lot of servants ever have the nerve to talk back, it's quite refreshing. Most would just look on with horrified looks and then run away."

"I truly am sorry your Grace, I did not mean any disrespect towards you. I just have a tendency to speak before I think, especially about matters that bother me the most." I stated again while looking back down at my feet again.
