Dear Diary, I believe that I'm a good significant other you know? But here we are, single once again. I look back at all relationships and wonder what happened? People in the media call me "the real life little red corvette." I mean I don't know if Prince is okay with that but, I mean thanks...I guess?

Monique Blair walked into the house that was filled with people. It was the aftermath of 10 Things I Hate About You which Monique had been invited to at the premiere so of course she came to the after party. She took a champagne glass off the little table the waiter carried with him. She stood off in the corner watching the party go on.

Soon an actor who had to be in his forties came up to her. "Hey, sugar sweet. How about you and me go to the back?" He asked with a smile. Monique glared at the man. "How about not?" His smile dropped. "No, you're supposed to say yes you little bitch." Monique caught off guard stared at him in shock.

"She said no so back off."

Monique turned to the voice and there stood the man who was in the movie. He played Patrick. The guy stood there with his arms crossed and a cold glare on his face. The older man looked between the two before scoffing and walking away. "Are you okay?" The man asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. That guy was just a dick. Didn't ruin my night though." Monique said. Being 19 in Hollywood was a blessing and a curse. It was fun but men and sometimes women thought they could take advantage of the poor girl. "I'm Heath. Heath Ledger." He offered his hand to her with a warm smile. "Monique. Monique Blair." She shook his hand and smiled back.

"So Monique, how old are you?" Heath asked as he stared at her with his arms behind his back. "Old enough." She shrugged. "Old enough to be drinking?" Heath questioned. Monique glanced at the glass in her hand and looked back at him. "Are you a cop?" He smiled and shook his head with a laugh. "I'm going to take that as a no." He grabbed the glass out her hand and she pouted.

"What the?" She questioned as he placed the glass on to a nearby table. He came back and looked at her. "So how old are you?" Heath asked. "Nineteen. You?" She asked with her head tilting a back. "I'm twenty." Heath smiled. "You can't even drink!" Monique glared at him with her arms crossed. He nodded. "And I don't condone underage drinking. It's not good for the growing body."

Monique snorted. "My body stopped growing at sixteen bud." Heath laughed. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Monique smiled. "Congrats on the movie by the way." She said and Heath nodded, "Thank you. I appreciate it." The two continue to chat for the evening. They still continue to chat as the party was now over. The two catching the train back to her place.

"So this is your place?" Heath asked as he looked up at the fancy apartment. "I forgot to ask, what do you do?" He turned to her. "I'm a model and an actress." She smiled as she began to walk to the double doors.
Heath stood there as he watched her go. She turned around as she couldn't feel his warmth anymore.

"Erm, do you want to come in?" She asked. Heath was going to respond before a text got sent to his phone. He checked it and frowned his eyebrows. "Mm, no not tonight but maybe we can hangout another time?" He looked up from his phone. She smiled and nodded. "Sure, I'd love too!"

The next morning Monique woke up with someone in her bed. "Mother!" she yelped. "Dear Monique, I forgot to give you my number last night so here it is with some pretty flowers that reminded me of you! Xoxo, Heath." Mya, Monique's mother, read out loud as Monique sat up and rubbed her eyes.

"Mom, what are you doing in my apartment?" Mya turned to her daughter, "You've got a new boyfriend? Again?" Monique shook her head, "No, mom. He's just a friend but you avoided my question." Mya raised her eyebrows in questioning. "I need a reasoning to come see my daughter?" she asked. Monique scrunched up her nose and nodded.

Mya rolled her eyes, "Pitiful. Anyways I came to make you breakfast. I've seen you on those covers and television. You look skinner than a glass door!" Mya said. "When I was coming up to the building I saw that Heath guy by the door, planting these beautiful flowers down. I asked who they were for and he said you so I offered to bring them up." Mya touched the flowers which happened to be beautiful spray of Lilacs.

"Okay, Mother, I have a photoshoot in two hours so if'd you like to make me breakfast so I don't eat avocado toast then I would get a move on." Monique sighed. "Don't you go bossing me around Moni, I'll bend you over my knee." Mya set the flowers down and walked out. "Love you." Moni shouted and a hum could be heard from her mother's lips.

Monique picked up the flowers and sniffed them. A smile spread across her face. She grabbed them and the card and set them her nightstand, taking out the dead Lily's that sat in the vase and putting the fresh Lilacs in it. She set it down right against the white vase. She walked into bathroom to finish her business and take her shower.

Monique posed for the photos as the camera snapped. "The people are right, Monique, the camera surely does love you." the photographer said. She smiled as they continue to work. She was posing for Vogue and soon they were called on for break. A man with a box came from the elevator. "Monique Blair?" the voice called out.

Monique waved her hand in the air as she sipped her water. He walked over and placed the box which looked like it was made for goodies on the desk. "Need your signature." He said. Monique nodded and smiled as she signed the paper. She opened the box to reveal a walkie talkie. She looks at it confused before she presses the button.

"Hello?"

"I hate it when a guy gives a girl his number and she doesn't call. Over."

Monique eyes widen and he mouth dropped as she realized the voice belonged to Heath. Everyone turned around and gathered around her. "Erm, yes, how'd you find out where I was?" She questioned. "Connections. Remember when we talked about how you had that sign on your forehead about not being disturbed? Well I was wondering, if you'd take it down for me this Friday evening, over?" Heath questioned. "Ou I can't. I'm having a girls night with some friends." Monique answered. "Saturday?" He asked.

She looked around the room for some supported but people shrugged. "Can't, dinner with my sister." Monique came up with a lie. "Do you know the definition of perseverance Ms. Blair?" Heath questioned her. Monique smiled, "An excuse to be obnoxious?" "Continuing a course of action without discharge meant or previous failure. Over." Heath explained. "Okay, Heath, how do I get rid of you? Need to go back to work." Monique asked.

"Breakfast, Sunday and you can barely even call that a date. You do that with out of town relatives that you don't even like. Over."

Monique thought for a moment and everyone around her said yes. "Okay, I guess I can do Sunday."

"You forgot to say over. Over."

"This conversation is over once you tell me when and where."

"Boomers, Industry Cali. Two pm. Over and out."
