She hated her hair in the mornings. She simply wanted her hair to be straight like all of her friends at school but instead Lena had a natural wave. It's a trait she acquired from her mother. So being adopted you think she would adore it but it truly just put a damper on the reputation that she had developed for herself over the years.

When Lena had first started school she didn't have a care in the world who she was friends with or what her grades were. But as the years progressed and Lillian had gotten more strict suddenly Lena did care. She cared a lot. All of the popular girls in her private school had straight hair. So when Lena hit fourth grade she began having her Nanny straighten it every morning before school. When Lena got to sixth grade she was straightening her hair herself. In third grade Lena hit an academic level of a middle schooler. Seventh grade Lena began talking college mathematics and science classes, all of which she passed with flying colors. The more popular she became and the more time she put into her studies the more she began to look forward to the private academic classes in her Junior year. No other students were there so if she didn't immediately understand a concept she had no worry of damping her image. She's had little miss perfect written in her yearbooks for years now. The nickname quickly left the written pages in her yearbooks and began to be spoken aloud during lunches when her so called friends would ask for help in a array of subjects.

Andrea however was Lena's favorite to assist. Andrea wasn't stupid by any means. She herself was placed in fairly advanced classes but would just occasionally need help filling in a few holes of whatever unit it was. Instead of going to the teachers Andrea would skip right over to Lena and ask for her help using more or less the same phrase every time. The longer tutor sessions were Lena's favorite. She had more time to make nerdy jokes and hear her laugh. The pair had been friends for years so Lena wasn't worried when she suddenly wanted to spend every waking moment around Andrea. Lena didn't worry when she started to notice how the light brightened up her eyes just so.

Lena did however worry when she saw a new girl walking through the halls of their school. Her hair looked nothing like Lena had ever seen. She had elegant golden curls that fell down to her waist compared to most of the straight brown hair that was typically seen in the halls. Or the strikingly blue eyes that pierced Lena's soul whenever she looked at them. However that wasn't even the most concerning thing. What worried Lena the most was the fact that this out of place blonde was in her advanced math classes. And in her advanced Science classes.

"Who are you? What are you doing in here? Did you get lost? You must be in the wrong room." The words came flying out of Lena's mouth so fast she couldn't stop it. She could not be having someone intruding in her safe space where she could be just Lena.

"I don't believe so...?" The blonde slid off the desk she was sitting on top of walking slightly closer to Lena, "This is B209, no? Advanced Placement Algebra 3?"

"You cannot be in this class." Lena was dumbfounded.

"Well... considering I was taking it at my old school I can." She tilts her head slightly giving a small smile, "I could've take AP Algebra 2 again but I'm not one for retaking courses. I'm Kara by the way. Kara Danvers." The blonde–Kara–extends her hand.

"Lena Luthor." She frowns ignoring the hand taking her seat.

"Ouch I didn't think people here would be so cold. How many people are in this course anyway?"

"No one Ms Danvers. Just you and Ms Luthor." The teacher Mr J'onzz smiles walking in, "Glad I'm finally able to teach someone else aside from Ms Luthor in her advanced studies."

"Studies? As in plural? So not just math?" Lena blurts out sounding far too shocked.

"Indeed. I hope you're prepared to gain a new friend. I doubt you two won't become acquaintances at least."
