Chapter 1

I tried living a normal life.

I got a job,

found a loving fiance who wants children,

made friends, etc.

I have a home, a bike that I love, nice clothes

I'm never hungry

I could even afford my own health insurance

What more could I ask for?

I contemplated to myself as I was looking down at a bloodied corpse of a father of three.

Things escalated quite fast, didn't it, dear readers?

Yes, I'm breaking the so called fourth wall by talking to you. I know there's someone reading this, or I'm just going crazy thinking my life is just a story written by someone who wishes she had made the decisions I'm making for her.

Enough of that, I need to clean up this mess before someone comes.

Did I kill the poor man? If so, why?

Yes and No reason.

I just felt like killing a fictional side character that exists only to begin the opening act.

If I didn't kill him, there won't be a story to tell, now, will there?

Do I feel bad about it? I'm just a human being in a story, what do you think?

I'm just doing whatever is written.

What if I wasn't the one who kill him? Maybe these words were written to make you think I did it?

Confused? LIfe is confusing, get over it.

Jo...Jo...JO!

Jo! What the fuck are you doing just standing there?

I felt my shoulders being shoved by a huge hand.

As I came to my senses, people in police garments started fade into existence.

Evin was taking pictures of evidence,

Lourie was checking the dead man on the floor.

A few rookie cops were checking the other rooms for evidence, etc.

Chief Hawks was staring me down with his piercing eyes behind me.

I just didn't want to turn around, not yet

Chief, just let Jo do her thing. Kane, my partner. I could always count on him.
