They come back the next evening. Out of curiosity the trio wanted to recheck the compartment. The candles and flashlights were back. Maybe it was too dark, maybe we were tired, maybe they didn't look hard enough, they kept questioning themselves. Maybe the animal brought them back, or maybe what if someone was playing a game on them they wondered. Nahhhh. All of a sudden they hear a loud fast tumbling that resembled footsteps in the crunchy leaves nearby. Maybe it's that animal.
The trio always try to meet multiple times a week at the spot. Sometimes everyday, sometimes two days. They went every day this week and every other day they heard footsteps. They were big like a big animal. Sometimes they would be scared it was a bear or the giant bat creature from the comic. Luckily whatever it was never came up with the latter while they were there.
One week the footsteps stopped and the strange events did not. After school one day they all walked through the woods past “the big chungus tree” and to their spots to relax. After some time of chatter they notice their special bright blue baseball is gone.
They also do not test a piece of paper sticking out from behind a picture. It’s a spell that reads “You shouldn’t be here!”It was an odd sequence of events. They were really shocked but they had some new friends. They found out and saw a new kid their age moving in. They met him at school and people called him little Johnny. They thought maybe it was Johnny playing a weird prank on them.
