It had been a year, a full 365 days since I submitted my internship report on Rocky. To be able to reflect on the past year, I'd like to think I've learnt lots more about the incredible man. The protection barrier he once had was decreasing, and he is becoming more open.

As the weeks had progressed into months, I felt a complete difference in myself and my relationship with Rocky. I found myself being exhausted and not motivated to do much with friends or with Rocky. According to him, my appetite has become pickier, and my attitude is more moody than usual. As Rocky was out of town this week, I was able to sneak in a quick appointment with the doctors office.

As I pulled into the parking lot, I'm pretty sure it took me 5 whole minutes just to find parking.

Walking in, the lady at the front smiled. "Hello, how can I help you?" She asked.

"Hi, I have an appointment at 10:00 am" I responded.

"Have a seat." She gestured to the wait room, where there were only 3 patients waiting.

As I sat down, I pulled out my phone. There were a few notifications. Ignoring them, I swiped them away.

One notification particularly stood out.

*Rocky text message*

Opening the message, one sentence:
'I'm on my way home. See you soon.'

I smiled at my phone, as it's been a long week without him. Before I could hit reply, the women called my name.

"Jessica?"

I followed her into the large hallway, where lines of room's were seen on each side of the building. She led me to a half opened door, stopping and turning towards me. She pointed, "The doctor should be in shortly." I nodded as I took a seat in one of the chairs.

I brought my phone out to respond to Rocky.

'Can't wait, see you soon.' I hit send.

A firm knock echoed through the room, "Hello Ms. Menendez, let's see what's going on." The doctor said as he peeked his head in. He sat down at his chair, bringing the keyboard out to type in some information. He began to ask me questions, just for a routine check.

"How often are you sexually active?" His fingers stopped typing, his eyes still glued to the keyboard awaiting a response.

"Often, I would say." I answered.

"When roughly was the last time you've been active?" This time, he turned his head to look at me.

"About a week or two ago."

He suggested that he do an ultrasound and a blood test just to rule out some objectives.

*15 minutes later*

"Well, Jessica. It looks like you're pregnant. About 7 weeks or so." He said as he glanced at my test results.

"What?" I was stunned, I didn't expect that to come out of his mouth. I stared at him, taking in the new knowledge of my condition.

The only thing I could think of was how Rocky was going to handle the news.

Was he ready to have a baby at this stage of his life?

Was I ready to have a baby?

Would he even want to have a baby? He never said anything about having kids.

Would he want to have a baby with me?

I left the doctors with a pit in my stomach.

I sat in my car for a few minutes, thinking. I glanced at the time after what felt like 5 minutes, only to realize it was 11:45. "Guess I should go." I sighed. I threw my key into the passenger seat while bringing my right index finger up to start the car.
