I must've cried myself to sleep. By the time I woke up I was still in Max's car. I squint my eyes at the dash, trying to figure out the time. "What time is it?" I finally asked after a minute of trying to adjust my eyes to the bright light.

"Ms. Jessica, it's 2:00 in the morning." He said.

"Shit. I'm sorry to keep you this late Max, I'll go."

"It's quite alright Ms." He said.

As he finished speaking, my door to the car was opening. Revealing a tall, familiar figure. A hand reached around and undid my seat belt, holding the other hand out offering me to grab it. I swatted his hand away. "I'm fine. I don't need you."

He didn't say anything, just nodded.

Walking to the front door, Rocky used his large hand to open. Holding it wide for me to enter. Once the door was safely shut, I watched out the window as Max pulled away. I instantly kicked off my shoes, walking to the bedroom to slip my dress off, letting it fall to the floor as Rocky followed closely behind.

I quickly change into some pj's as Rocky climbed back into bed. I walked over to my side and reached down to pick up my pillow.

"Where are you going?" Rocky asked ashamed.

I turned and looked at him. His eyes were locked on mine, but was a hint of sadness. "The guest room. I don't want to see you right now." I said sternly.

"Jessica." He started.

"Save it." I held my hand up to stop him. And with that I turned on my heels and went to the next room.

It took me no time to go to sleep, each mattress this man had was way too comfortable.

The morning rolled around. As I woke, I stared at the ceiling debating on if I should get up or not. I knew one way or another, Rocky and I would have to discuss last night. Quietly, I walked back to our shared room to change into some clothes.

I left to head towards the kitchen. When I got there, breakfast was already made. I grabbed a plate of food and brought it over to the table, sitting down on one of the stools.

By the time I was done washing the dishes and putting them away, Rocky entered the kitchen.

Here he was, holding flowers.

"Jessica, I apologize for last night." He started. I stayed silent, waiting for him to go on. When he didn't, I spoke up.

"Let's just forget it." I said tight lipped. Again, he nodded. He knew he had said things that weren't appropriate and out of line, I'm just waiting for him to admit it. Before he had a chance to speak I did. "I know you're scared about being a dad, plus busy with work right now and I am to. But..." I paused. "Last night was no excuse for you to use me as a punching bag." He looked at me, not saying anything; letting my words sink in as I moved towards the nursery.

The room was almost finished, we just needed to add a few more things. We just haven't had time to unbox them, so today would be the day I did that.

Rocky walked in minutes later. "You're right. Last night was no excuse. I'm sorry."

"You owe Max a lot for staying with me last night." I said. At least we were cordial with each other, unlike last evening. "Rocky." He looked at me. "Let's talk baby names." I said changing the subject to something happier. As much as I want to be angry with him, he's not the same man as I once knew.  He's adapted to change.

Rocky sat down onto the rocking chair, I sat on his lap with the pen and paper. His hand reached around and landed on my thigh, his thumb rubbing it slightly. I brushed it off.
