Hey guys, I'm back after 4 days!

Chapter 3 was a long one as it composed of 21000+ words, so I decided to split them into two. Since this is part 1, part 2 will be out in 5 days after this.

This chapter and its 2nd part composed the story of Hornet's past... well, partially. This story showed how Hornet was born, and revealed more about his biological family/colony.

Warning: This chapter might contain strong angst, so my advice is to put a tissue beside you while you're reading. If this doesn't emotionally affect you much, then part 2 will be the strong one.

Have fun reading this chapter.

*Flashback*

A white cocoon around a hive comb suddenly broke, and an orange insect emerged. It yawned when it breathed its first fresh air after two weeks in that cocoon. The young hornet stretched his arms, and extended his new wings. He looked around before looking at his own body. He wasn't a grub anymore. He's a fully-grown hornet, "Finally, after two weeks, I'm an adult now!" He looked behind him to discover his wings, "I even have wings!" Happily, Hornet realized he could fly now. That meant he could roam around the hive. He won't stay in the comb anymore! He looked around him to see his fellow hornet fly all over the place. He couldn't wait to meet his fellow grown hornets in person, "Hello, hello down there!" But no one seemed to hear him.

Hornet figured if he gets close enough to his fellow hornets, they'll hear him. With his new wings, this is gonna be his first flight. Carefully, he flapped his wings, and dropped himself down, slowing his fall with his flight.

When his feet touched the floor of the hive, Hornet was now surrounded by his fellow hornet, flying, crawling, and eating all over the place. Hornet then started greeting them with a polite wave of his hand.

"Hi guys, how's it going?" He greeted two hornets flying above him, but they didn't greet him back.

Then, Hornet greeted another one, who was a female, "Looking good, nice wings!"

Instead of appreciating the compliment, the female hornet scoffed, thinking that was rude.

Hornet then greeted another male hornet, who carried a mantis leg, "How's your day today?"

The hornet groaned, "Awful, as always," he then walked away without looking back at the hornet.

"Oh, well, I hope the rest of the day will be wonderful for you," Hornet waved happily at that hornet.
