I stood shakily at the x factor's back stage. This is it. I was going to take one step on fulfilling my dreams. Singing dreams, to be precise. I looked at myself from the glass reflection that was attached to the wall next to the stage entry.
My hair fell down to my waist and curled ever so slightly at the ends. My makeup was perfect, and my clothes sat great on my sun kissed body.
I wore ripped white skinny jeans, with a black singlet and a leather jacket. My brown boots went great with the outfit.
"Okay are you ready love?" The man who stod at the entry said. I nodded and he handed me my microphone.
"Okay now," The man signalled me to step on stage. I took a deep breath before stepping into the spotlight.
The crowd went wild, probably because some people recognised me from my youtube, MaryseFawn, where I sing, and from some of the Janoskians tweets, keeks and video's. There was a huge poster saying 'WE LOVE YOU MARYSE!' and underneath were my mum, Gina, Luke, Beau, Jai, James and Skip. They jumped up and down and waved the sign around.
I shot them a quick smile and wave before standing on the x. "Hello!" One of the judges greeted. "Hi," I replied back. I was as nervous as a Chihuahua.
"Whats your name?" Katy Perry asked. "My name is Maryse Fawn." I said. "And what will you be performing?"
"I will be singing 'I won't give up by Jason Mraz." The crowd cheered again. "Okay show us what you've got!"
The song started and I suddenly felt relaxed. My tensed shoulders dwindled down and my legs stood straight. I let my voice out.
When I look into your eyes
The crowd started cheering again.
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
Well there's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find
'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up
The crowd now stood up and clapped with the music. I began pacing around a little so I didn't look like a statue as I sang.
I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use the tools and gifts
We got yeah we got a lot at stake
And in the end,
You're still my friend at least we didn't tend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn, how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I got, and what I'm not
And who I am
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
I'm still looking up
The crowd was filled with cheers and claps now. I let out a sigh of relief and even noticed the judges standing up.
"That was amazing!"
"You defiantly have the x factor!"
"I think its a yes from all of us!"
I began jumping up and down excitedly.
"Thankyou so much!" I waved at the crowd and judges before going back stage.
"That was amazing! How do you learn to sing like that?" The back stage man asked. The camera crew were still around me.
I laughed. "Thankyou, and I have a Youtube channel called MaryseFawn where I do covers. I currently have 200,000 subscribers." I said.
"Well, you will defiantly rock the stage, see you next time!" He said. The camera went off. I felt someone wrap their arms around my waist. I turned around and hugged Luke, by wrapping my arms around his neck.
"That's my girl!"
"You look gorgeous and you were amazing!"
"You will defiantly win!"
Compliments filled the room. I hugged everyone before we started heading out. "Mum, wheres Dad?" I just noticed my dad wasn't around. My mum's eyes filled with tears. "He had work, sorry honey." She said.
I gave a understanding look and nodded my head. My dad always had something on everytime I had something special or once in a life time on. I don't feel like he is my dad anymore.
Luke must have noticed how hurt I felt. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder as we walked to the car. "Hey, you were great, I am so proud." He kissed my forehead. "Thank you Lukey." I kissed his cheek.
After we had dinner at a restaurant, we went home. "See you tomorrow!" Luke said. I hugged everyone before heading inside with my mum.
