Snow Day

"Daveeey" the last half of the word was slow and elongated. "Can we please go play in the snow?!" Their words sounded childlike; almost whiney. They were answered with a deep slow growl. "It's cold, Angel" the words were gentle yet stern. They folded their hands over their chest, fluttered their eyes, and jerked their head away to the left in a quick motion. "I'll just go by myself then!" They grumbled a bit before opening the sliding back door in the kitchen of the shared home. Instantaneously, the cold air that rushed in gave them goose bumps. Angel rubbed their arms and stepped out. As soon as their feet hit the pavement they regretted not putting clothes on before coming out. "Look at me, all alone, in the snow, because SOMEONE wouldn't come play outside with me..." they put emphasis on their dissatisfaction with David. A muffled response was heard, but they couldn't make sense of the words. They let out a small huff and bent down to grab a small handful of snow. "Daveeey" they exaggerated their voice to be a higher pitch than normal. David let out a grunt in response. Quickly, they had put the handful of snow on David's neck, then ran as quickly as they could outside. They heard David curse a bit. "You little shit! I'm gonna get your dumb ass" David yelled running after the smaller individual. Once he made it into the harsh environment, he picked up some snow, packed it into a ball, and pelted it towards Angel. "Ouch!" They squealed at the surprise and proceeded to make their own snowball. When they were satisfied with the dimensions of it, they threw it right back at David. The couple continued to play fight with each other in the snow until their limbs were numb and burning. After getting tired of the burning feeling in their legs, the couple returned to the couch. Flipping on a movie and cuddling close the two drifted into a comforting and renewing sleep.
