Hello everyone! It's me, the writer of Brushstrokes and of course, its sequel, Watercolors. Before I release the first chapter, though, I want to go over a quick reminder of some of the points from the last story, in case if you have forgotten.
It's the modern day, and Richie meets a cute artist named Eddie. Richie's best friend is Stan.
Richie and Eddie develop a loving relationship, complete with teasing, laughter, and vandalism.
Eddie's mother is homophobic, abusive, and controlling, but the two Kaspbrak's slowly begin to fix the broken relationship over time.
Stan starts dating a boy named Bill, who is a writer.
At the end of senior year of high school, Eddie is accepted into Yale with a respectable scholarship, and Richie attends a more affordable university on the outskirts of Boston.
He meets his roommate, Mike Hanlon, and that's about where the first story left off.
This story might be a tad bit darker at points, simply because it's about the loneliness that comes with attending college for the first time, and the ways transitioning into adulthood can be extremely tricky.
Trigger warning goes for drinking and alcohol use. There might be others that are chapter specific.
I hope you'll tag along with me on this - this sequel has been months in the making. And thank you to everyone who read Brushstrokes or my other Reddie fic, Hold Me. I love writing about these boys so much. I might have another separate fic up soon sometime, depending on my work schedule.
But thank you so much, it's good to be back, and I hope you enjoy!
