the lights and music distort as my drug kicks in, yet I'm not on any substances when our eyes meet. the blonde haired boy standing right in front of me, his dark eyes filling a hole in my mind that I didn't know was empty until now. i can see by the way his face shifts that his thoughts are similar to mine, my friends voices drown out as the only thing I now want is him.

10/22 Saturday, 9:03pm. Ary's house, Los Angeles, CA

the bright white lights of my friend ary's bathroom don't do anything, considering the fact there's 6 of us crammed in it. powder, brushes, eyelashes, any makeup product you can think of is somewhere in this bathroom, either on the floor, in the sink, stuck to the mirror, or in the tub. laughter, arguing, and yelling fills the room, alongside the music. as soon as we are all ready, the madness of getting everyone in this small car is even worse than before. I stay quiet as everyone else's screaming voices cause a disarray around me.

I contemplate on whether or not I should jump out the car and run home, yet my self-control eliminates that idea. everyone is in the car, finally. me stuck in the back, next to aurora and cassie. dont get me wrong, I love my friends with all my heart, but sometimes they're just too much. ary drives while jaden sits in the front, imani gets stuck in the trunk. jaden grabs ary's phone, which is connected to the aux, and plays "Can I" by Drake.

"what club are we heading to?" imani yells from the back over the blasting music.

"if its open, probably Avalon" ary yells back, signaling for jaden to put it into the GPS.

"what if its not open" jaden asks before he gets the directions.

"then we'll figure something out" ary says back, put the car into drive.

the music is loud, but it wont be as loud as it'll be at the club. i rest my head in my hand and look out the window. i feel eyes on me, it has to be aurora, considering she's sitting in the middle.

"you good" she asks, putting her hand on my knee

"yeah. im just a little tired." I lie

"oh. well just wait til we get drinks, you'll be wide awake" she says smiling. I fake a small laugh before looking back out the window. if you're wondering why I'm acting like a little bitch right now, trust me its for a valid reason. i auditioned for a new movie a couple months back as a leading role. I'm nervous but also disappointed, I know I wont get in. I don't have a lot of acting experience, especially for a huge, Hollywood movie like this one. they said they'll let me know by this weekend, but considering it's already Saturday night and no call back, I'm not hopeful. I try to convince myself to think positively and not let this role affect my mood. I remind myself that its fashion week and that there will be a lot of celebrities down by the club.

9:46pm. Vine St, Los Angeles, CA

"we're here!" ary says in a sing-song voice. im glad someone's in a good mood. we all step out of the car, the sun had already set so I could see the lights beaming off the club from a mile away. the vibrations from the music meet my feet as I step onto the cement.

"come on girl! dont be so sad." jaden says smiling at me with his hand out for me to grab it. when I dont, he grabs my hand himself and drags me alongside him, causing me to laugh a little. we meet the front of the club and show our ids to the bouncer, I had just turned 21 on the 14th of october so I got lucky.

"have a good night ladies, and that guy" he says, waving at the people behind us to come up once we walk into the club. as soon as we walk in, im immediately hit with the loud bass of the music. I feel jaden let go of my hand. I look up and give him a confused look.
