❝Wait, what?❞ Gwi-nam spat his foot out, everything landing on the table and some onto Chang-hoon's cheek. The boy wiped it off and hit him in the shoulder.

"You got your fucking spit on me, idiot!" The boy in the blue jacket swiped the rest off of the table.

"It's okay; you'll live." Gwi-nam rolled his eyes and brought his attention back to Myeong-hwan, who showed him a post on his phone. "Is it true? It's not edited or something...right?"

Myeong-hwan brought his phone back. "No, you dickhead, it's true. Hyeon-ju sent it to me about—a day ago. I just forgot to show you."

The photo in question was of Sena and Min-jae. To any student, it would be a regular picture. They would be confused as to why Min-jae, a well-known senior on the archery team, would be hanging out with Sena, an unpopular and quiet senior. She was a nobody. Not many knew her, and the people who did know her only knew her because she was Gwi-nam's punching bag.

She let the boy do whatever he wanted to her. It's not like she could do anything about it, anyway. The last time she tried sticking up for herself, he threatened to beat her until she couldn't breathe. And considering how much stronger he was compared to her, she didn't want to experience that.

Gwi-nam didn't have a reason to pick on the girl. He did it because he thought it was fun. Was it fun? Yeah, it was fun.

"If you like her so much, why bother her? She's getting boring." Chang-hoon said with a mouthful.

Gwi-nam plucked his friend in the head. "You dipshit, who said I liked her?"

"You," Myeong-hwan points his fork towards him. "You told us weeks—we've known since we were 14. It was so fucking obvious that you liked that cunt."

"I—I don't like her. Why would I like her? She's ugly and dumb. She doesn't even talk to anyone." Gwi-nam scoffed.

That was it. He liked her. Expressing how he felt about someone wasn't something he did on a regular. It would help if you pried him open to figuring out how he thought about somebody. Judging by what Myeong-hwan said, Gwi-nam has liked Sena for a while. That explains why he gives Min-jae weird looks whenever he sees him with Sena.

"Dude, you gawk at her in the hallways like...all the time. You think we don't realize, but we do." Chang-hoon chuckled. Gwi-nam grabbed a water bottle on the table and hit his friend upside down.

"You shitheads never give me a break. We can't even get fried chicken without you fuckers bringing up that weirdo." Gwi-nam grabbed a wing from their basket of chicken, taking a bite into it.

As if his luck wasn't as bad as it was already, he turned his head to see Sena standing at the entrance of the chicken shop staring at Gwi-nam. She heard everything they were saying and was utterly taken aback. Instead of confronting him, she backed away and began running back home.

"Aw, fuck." Gwi-nam cursed under his breath. "She had to be here at the worst moment."
