matt sat anxiously at his desk while he tapped the pen in his hand against the wood. his eyes were trained on the glass of water set down next to him. he was focused on the water rolling down the side of the glass from the condensation and following the droplet down until it made a puddle on his desk.

today's the day aria arrived back in boston. everyone was talking about her return. matt's been listening non stop from his brothers about how excited they were, and he kept reading aria's return all over social media in the morning. matt felt nothing but anxious at this.

anne wanted all of ari's friends to come to her house for a mini welcome home  party for the girl - this meant an invitation was sent to matt. not only that, anne had called and begged for matt to stop by and make an appearance, and it's not like matt can say no. anne was practically like his second mom growing up due to his relationship with ari so he knew he would go just for anne's sake.

when the water falling down the side of the glass became too boring, even for matt, he let out a loud groan and relaxed in his chair. his chair reclined some die to the impact of matt slumping further back into it. he let his feet slowly turn himself around so he could stare out the window.

matt always wanted to do something with youtube. he loved the idea of doing it with his brothers. when they were seventeen, they posted their first video.

he loved it. although, it did remind him of ari. that had always been a combined dream of theirs. quite cliché really, but when matt told ari about becoming a youtuber, that's when ari admitted to being a singer. matt had been the one to convince aria to go on americas got talent to get her dream started, and once matt was ready they would work together.

it was a good plan. until ari won america's got talent. then she immediately left on tour and signed a contract with a record company, completely forgoing her and matt's plans.

matt and his brothers started their channel a year later. since nick was a photographer, he would edit all the videos and do pretty much everything matt and chris couldn't do. they spent countless hours planning ideas for videos and what they want to do in the future.

matt's recently started posting on his personal youtube page. mostly talking about his anxiety and how to deal with it.

matt jumped when his phone buzzed from his pocket. it was nate saying he came over with lunch. matt moved to his bed and waited for nate to walk through his door. as if on cue, nate opened the door and showcased a bag of food in one hand two drinks in the other. nate smiled as he placed both on matt's bed and took a seat across from him.

"you look stressed," nate noted, taking the root beer and handing it to matt.

matt took a sip of his drink and comically widened his eyes, "well, my ex is coming home today. not much of a happy occasion."

nate set his soda back in the bed and began pulling out the food in the bag. he handed matt a burger and fries while he pulled out his own as well. he leaned back against the wall and took the first bite, frowning at matt, "is she even still considered your ex? it's been like three years."

matt shrugged, picking at the bun of the burger before finally taking a bite. he popped a few fries in his mouth and took a sip of his soda. "i mean i haven't had another relationship since her," matt admitted, wiping his mouth with a napkin, "and our breakup wasn't the prettiest, so..."

"you dated," nate pointed out.

matt laughed and rolled his eyes, setting his burger back on its wrapper, "yeah, and those dates turned out oh so well."

nate pursed his lips, "so have you decided who you're going to bring to the concert yet?" he took another bite into his food and began tossing fry after fry into his mouth.
