"the letter had arrived during his absence"

It was almost night, Tsuchigomori was outside buying dinner as she waited for him. For the entire day, he insisted for her to stay here in his office so that she could get rest.

Yako still felt incredibly weak and tired, like a lifeless husk so she didn't expect for her to get better anytime soon. She coughed and whined a bit to herself, already hungry since it's been a while since her last meal.

She slumped in her chair as she peeked outside, the sun was still out but it was almost gone already, the moon having it's time to shine.

Thinking about the moon reminded her about Hanako. She wondered how he was, hopefully not in too much trouble.

She heard footsteps and shortly after, the click of the lock opening. Tsuchigomori walked in, carrying a plastic bag with the food inside. He set down the plastic bag on the desk, making a little thud. He sat down and took out two small boxes of food.

He sat down in the black office chair and grabbed the back of Yako's chair bringing her closer to the table so that she could reach it.

"I also bought you some food.. figured you'd be hungry" Tsuchigomori informed her as he was opening the containers and reached his hand inside the plastic bag getting some untensils. He put Yako's utensils next to her container and held his own and started eating.

Tsuchigomori noticed that Yako wasn't eating and immidiately knew something was wrong. Usually, she would be gobbling down her meal and ask for more but she wouldn't wouldn't tilted even touch the food.

He tilted her container so that he could fix it for her and pushed some rice into her spoon. He lifted it up to her face and Yako took the spoon and ate the rice, embarrassed.

"I can eat just fine by myself you know"

Tsuchigomori looked away and continued eating his meal, giving Yako her fork. Yako slowly ate her meal than usual, because she had to basically drag her arms to just lift up the spoon.

Please forgive me idk what do with this chapter so pls forgive me in advance for the next paragraph

Tsuchigomori held her wrists, helping her eat. He pushed rice and eat into her spoon and brought the spoon close to her mouth. After she ate a bit more, Tsuchigomori received a big slap to the face which he didn't react to much since he's had to deal with her short temper for years.

"DIDN'T I ALREADY TELL YOU I CAN EAT FINE BY MYSELF" she shouted.

Yako shifted into the small fox and sank her teeth sharply into his arm. Tsuchigomori flinched a bit and tried to shake her off his arm, waving it everywhere. But Yako wouldn't let go.

Tsuchigomori tried prying her off and she still wouldn't let go. Tsuchigomori just gave up and continued eating.

Yako sank her teeth harder and deeper. A bit of blood starting to flow out on to the fur of her face.

After they ate, and a while of biting, Yako (still in fox form) hopped back to her seat and curled up.

Tsuchigomori packed the containers back into the plastic bag with the utensils, setting them on the shelf behind them.

Tsuchigomori kept them, so that he could buy 2 servings worth of breakfast and just split them in those continare to use tomorrow.

He pushed Yako's chair to the right a bit back to where it was. Yako spinned a bit because the chair could swivel. Yako laid on top of the unfolded thick blanket from earlier and 2 pillows for her back and head.

Tsuchigomori held a flashlight, turned it on and walked towards the doorway. He turned off the lights and walked back to his desk, the flashlight guiding him.

He plugged in the lamp on his desk, giving a dim warm soft light in the room, similar to the sun rising but much more darker. Yako rose slowly, standing up on the chair and turned around the other way because the light was in her face.

When she turned around, she saw the big moon up in the sky, accompanied by the stars. She closed her eyes and laid down on her side ontop of the mountain of pillows and blankets.

Tsuchigomori grabbed a thick book from the stack he had brought in from the library. He wiped his hand on the cover, the dust flying off onto the floor. The cover of the book was plainly black, with a few letters on the spine.

Tsuchigomori opened the heavy cover and started reading. The books he had was in a bit of a weird format but by now he was used to them because of how many he has read.

Tsuchigomori glanced at Yako. She was sleeping on her side in the middle of the blankets and pillows. The moon light gave her fur a little blue hue. He smiled softly and looked back at his book, flipping the page.

Yako has been sick for a few days now, Kou and Yashiro weren't here since it was a Sunday. Tsuchigomori was reading his book, almost half-lidded because he was tired now from taking care of Yako.

He really should get some sleep.

------------------------------------------
The morning sun peeked through the windows, waking up Yako. She rolled over and fell of one of the pillows she was leaning on and onto the blanket. She stood up slightly, turning around and turning back into her human form.

She stretched her back, yawning a bit. She opened her eyes fully instead of half-lidded and looked around.

There was an absence of the half colored hair Tsuchigomori who would usually be here when she woke up. "Oh yeah, today's a Monday he's probably teaching" she remembered.

She stood up, looking around if he got her any food or left anything. After a few minutes of searching, she confirmed there was nothing.

She saw the thick book he was reading last night on his desk. She approached it, and picked it up in her hands and blew a small amount of air on it to get rid of most of the dust.

She sat at his desk and opened the thick cover, bending the book open.

After a few hours of reading, she was a little over halfway done with the book. She heard the door creek open and Tsuchigomori stood there with his bag. He stepped in and couldn't help but ask

"Yako what are you doing?"

She opened her mouth slightly, confused on what to say. She had no alibi so she froze, having a hard time figuring out what to say.
