Frida was awoken by the smell of home-cooked food, and it seemed her baby was hungry.
"Hey, do you want me to bring you some?" Benny asked, turning his bowl slightly so she could see the soup.
"Mhh yes, that looks delicious! What is it?" She looked hopeful.
"Tomato and basil, I'll get you some now. Any bread?" He enquired, turning his head back to face her. She nodded and he left the room immediately. Why did he leave so fast?

Benny came back moments later with a medium sized bowl and what seemed to be half a baguette.
"Benny that's too much, I can't eat all that."
"You can and you will, you're unwell and you need this. Did you even have breakfast?" He frowned.
"I had a banana." Frida tried to hold her ground.
"Frida." Benny shook his head.
"What?" She pursed her cherry-red lips.
"You know what. Come on, you need to eat." He raised his eyebrows.
"I would, but you tucked me in too tightly." Frida's eyes shone with amusement, trying with all her might to free herself.
"Would you like me to help you?"He sat down on the sofa, raising the spoon near her lips.
"If you wouldn't mind." She blushed, opening her mouth, which unfortunately Benny missed.
"Benny!" Frida laughed, wiping the soup off her forehead.
"Oops, sorry. Here's to attempt 2!" He chuckled, aiming for her lips once more.
"This is never going to work." She wheezed, tears of laughter forming in her eyes.
"Yes it will, round 3." He tried again, but forced the spoon into her mouth so hard she didn't actually have room to swallow, so bit down onto the spoon instead.

"Fuck that's hot." Frida muttered as she felt the soup scold her tongue. In the end, she had to spit it back into the bowl, chugging her cold herbal tea in an effort to bring down the temperature.
"I didn't realise my food tasted that bad." Benny pouted, but ruined the effect slightly by breaking into an ear-splitting grin.
"Just horrible, darling." Frida winked, opening her mouth again.

"Haha, very funny." Benny rolled his eyes.
"You know you can stop treating me like a baby." She giggled.
"Nonsense. I don't treat you like a baby, it's just you happen to be having my baby so I want to make sure you're healthy and comfortable, that's all." His eyes lowered to her stomach.
"I would never have guessed!" She joked, rubbing her belly. "Thank you for being so kind to me." Frida kissed Benny's cheek shyly, blushing as she watched it go redder than an apple.
"Of course I would, I love you after all." He admitted his feelings, but Frida thought he meant platonically. I mean, he loved Mona, didn't he?

"You're lovely too." Frida couldn't look at him, she couldn't say she loved him as a friend yet when she knew he would be the love of her life. It was too soon to say it. She was a good actress, but Benny could read her like a book. Well, of course he could; They were together for over 11 years.

"Are you happy about the baby?" She had to ask, even though she was afraid of the answer.
He paused for a second trying to find the right words, but Frida interpreted this to be a resolute no. She swallowed the sob that formed in her throat which alarmed Benny.

"What's wrong?" He moved closer to her, reaching for her hand. She refused and heard someone say in a shaky voice, "Your actions speak louder than words. But you didn't bother using those either."
Hang on, that person kind of sounded like her....

Then she realised.

That person was her.

"I'm over the moon about our child, I was just trying to find the right words to properly express how happy I am. Though I do wish you told me sooner." Benny pulled her into a hug, rubbing circles around her back.
"Promise?" She sniffled.
"Of course I do, he's  one of the best things in my life." Benny kissed the tip of her nose.
"I-I just felt like I'm intruding on your new family." She bit her bottom lip, fear in her eyes.
"Now why on Earth would you think that Frid?" He was constantly trying to understand her crazy emotions.
"You've got the love of your life, a new baby on the way, I just feel like I ruined everything." She shut her eyes.
"Just because I have Mona now doesn't mean I don't care about you anymore. You're the most important person in my life." He twisted her short hair around his fingers, loving the feel.
"You're just saying that to make me feel better." Frida choked.
"No, you know better than anyone else I don't mince my words, I say what I think. And this what I think Frida, so please listen." Benny whispered softly, looking deep into her eyes.
"Benny...." She leaned closer and he did too.
