It is better to die fighting than to die giving up - Jordan April May

Snarls of resentment, growls of chagrin, whimpers of distress and howls of pain. All these sounds and more echoed around me, bouncing off the towering trees and through the large clearing. There were at least fifty of us, mine and Alpha Shane's pack warriors, and we were all vigorous, but we were still battling against the many, many savage rogues. I had no idea how there was so many, but I was dauntless as I faced them. Where did he find them and why were they all so faithful to him? Loyal enough to fight a battle that wasn't theirs to fight. Willing to die.

It was like everything was in slow motion, the wolves - from mine and Alpha Shane's pack, as well as the rogues - were falling rigid to the durable ground. The battle surrounded me. I was sparring against a dull brown rogue, his top lip was pulled back in a snarl, baring his vicious teeth at me. The dominant Alpha inside clawed and scratched until I growled and ripped and tore, shredding the rogue's skin and my humanity along with it. Blood coated my black fur, clumping and matting it, but right now all I could focus on was war. Blood and gore and death.

I needed it!

I sprinted towards a grey wolf, just as he was about to sink his teeth into a pack mate, and ambushed him from behind. We rolled and fought, but I won. I would always win. Wolves came at me, in groups, in packs. I didn't care, I took them on effortlessly. The adrenaline in my blood was pumping, thoughts of death scanning through my head. Before long, before I knew what had happened, before a shred of my humanity had crept back in, I was standing tall above a field of wolves.

All dead.

Blood turned the green grass crimson. But that was all - and everything - I could see. Red. Pure, unadulterated chagrin filled me. Wolves from mine and the neighboring pack surrounded the clearing's edge, shadowing into the trees. Their amber eyes were weary as I growled out my anger.

And then I heard four little words, individually they meant nothing, but together they meant my life. Time accelerated again. Like it was making up for the hours, minutes, seconds lost, everything seemed to go much more rapidly than usual. Or maybe that was just my head spinning from the sight and smell of so much blood.

"We've found her, Daniel."

-----------------------------------

Okay...so this is the prologue, (people who read the book before I started editing it may recognize it) for some reason my writing is quite slow at the moment. It may be all the exams and the pressure or other things. So I am putting this chapter up as a 'coming soon' sort of thing, just so you guys know that I haven't forgotten about this story.

So here is a little snippet of it and I'd really, really appreciate it if you vote and tell me what you think by leaving a small comment.

Thank you all,
