[SILVER RAYNE WILLIAMS]

I HAD a slight deliberation within me. My choices were extremely slim.

It was either Lord Graydon's undoubted fury, or being caught by the Royal guards.

One Fang was certainly better than a host. And Lord Graydon is capable of stopping them if need be. He was a Lord Select after all.

Without overthinking the situation, knowing either way, a punishment no doubt awaited me, only difference was I could try to talk myself out of one, whilst the other was quite uncertain and would most definitely be unpleasant.

I immediately bolted in the direction of Lord Graydon who was casually standing by a refreshment table, eyes assessing the assortments.

Wasn't he supposed to be mingling with the Tribe?

I breathlessly approached him, trying hard to be quick whilst not drawing too much attention.

When I reached him, I paused by his side taking a deep breath.

"My Lord, let's dance," I offered, or rather begged quite anxiously and breathlessly, eyes set on the side of his masked face.

Lord Graydon hardly spared me a look, his ringed fingers pushing a glass plate into place.

"I do not wish to dance..." he trailed off, his tone plane and stale, "leave."

He was angry then.  Or he simply did not recognize me.

My eyes flashed to the guards in an increased panic mode noting that they were now banding together,

In desperation, and without taking a moment to consider my actions I tugged at his arm forcibly to the dance floor

"I know you're mad and I'm sorry but I need your help and this is no time to be a mean monster," I grunted pulling him along behind me.

He pulled away seemingly angrier, stopping in the middle of the ballroom floor, his tone dry.

"I am not a monster."

Oh yes, he was definitely angry, I was here but it was expected.

"Debatable," I huffed, paying him no mind, my heart pounding harshly as the guards moved toward me.

My eyes caught all this and as an instant reaction, I moved forward, throwing my arms around his neck.

"What are you-"

"Shush!" I huffed, fixing his hand around my waist, eyes focused over his shoulder as I pushed him closer, only now realizing that Lord Graydon was slightly taller than I had thought, as I had to tiptoe to keep an eye out on the guards, pulling him closer toward me in desperation.

This was the time to beg for my life. He pulled away, but I forced him back, clinging for dear life.

"Lord Graydon, please," I breathlessly whispered, eyes set on the guards. I knew he could recognize my voice if not my sent.
