i walk him out to his car
it's after dark
i tell him goodnight and he leans close and kisses me
i say 'do you want to go for a walk?'
he says 'sure.'
we're walking and i hold up our hands,
our fingers are intertwined,
and i ask 'what was that? what is this?'
he smiles at me. 'i'm not very sure. correct me if i'm wrong in thinking you like me.'
i shake my head. 'no. i do. but... you like me?'
he smiles again. 'is that so shocking? why are you so surprised?'
'why me? i'm just nine years younger than you.'
'that shouldn't affect how you love someone.' and he hugs me tight.
i don't deserve you.
which is why none of this is true
you're cruel, do you know that?
you're cruel to me
