Twirling my mechanical pencil through my fingers and staring blankly at my history test.

The energy is tense and rigid in the room, with some students with their heads down in defeat.

While I scramble answers in my jumbled brain.

So much for watching Netflix last night, and knowing I had a test the next day.

I can hear my best friend, Daniella saying "You should study more and not be so lazy."And right now, I know she's right.

The loud echoing footsteps of Mr. Woods's dress shoes, make a short clipping sound with every step he takes.

The clock ticking and it's pure silence, no funny jokes or stupid arguments.

The test paper is filled with answers in hopes of passing the second quarter, if not I'm dead.

Not literally, but my parents will make my life a living nightmare.

"Students, please make sure to carefully read each question, properly," said Mr. Woods slightly casting eyes down upon my paper and seeing the room of exhausted students.

Each desk was placed neatly in a row, worksheets stacked in a high pile, and coffee mugs left alone.

The school bell rings loudly surely damaging my poor ears.

"Alright, everyone please pass up your tests and your grades will be posted by tomorrow morning," said Mr. Woods collecting the papers and bidding students goodbye.

Finally, that awful torture is over. Walking out of the classroom, unsure of what to feel right now.

Lost in my thoughts, Daniella walked in sync with my feet's rhythm.

"Hey, how was your history test?" said Daniella carrying a butt load of notebooks and papers in her arms.

"Oh god, I'd rather not talk about it, I'm pretty sure I bombed that damn test," said Diana bowing her head in shame.

"C'mon now don't be so negative, just have some faith in yourself," said Daniella carefully putting in her locker combination.

"I dunno, I am ready to ace our Spanish test tomorrow for Mr. Prez what about you?" said Diana

"You and Spanish are besties for life because I suck at grammar," said Daniella shaking her head and putting on her Jean jacket and backpack over her shoulder.

"I can help study, only if you want to," said Diana trying to stuff her giant Spanish ll textbook.

"No thanks, but thanks for asking, see you tomorrow," said Daniella walking toward the double doors.

"Bye, Daniella I love you," said Diana waving across the hallway.

The sun shines through the open glass windows and it's just me in these empty halls.

Stepping into the crisp air and making my way home, hope to get a good night's sleep.
