Detention.

A word that scared most students or others just don't care at all.

Usually, this kind of punishment would be dealt with by people who get in trouble.

Right now, I never expected myself to ever be in detention.

The whiteboard was covered with dates and students' names.

A faint silhouette of Aaliyah comes through the door.

Popping her bubble gum loud enough for everyone to hear.

I turn my body away from her view not wanting to speak to her.

A tired teacher walks into the room and locks the door.

Slumps her body into the deflated chair.

Releasing a sigh into the air and creasing her eyebrows into an unpleasant smile.

"Okay, everyone please put your phones in this bin," said the teacher walking up and down every aisle and collecting each student's phone.

The room is silent and janitors clean the lunchrooms and bathrooms.

A beautiful sunset sitting high in the sky.

The sun rested on a pillar of puffy clouds.

Aaliyah smoothly slides her body into the desk next to mine, checking her nails and smiling to herself.

Looking over my notes and making a few finishing touches.

"Hey, what are you doing? I'm bored to death right now" said Aaliyah looking around the room to find something interesting.

I breathe out a breath of frustration and annoyance.

"What do you want Aaliyah I'm busy doing stuff," said Diana her hands grabbing worksheets and a computer screen.

"Woah, rude much I just asked you a simple question, bitch" said Aaliyah saying the last few words for her ears only and no one else.

Right now, my patience was hanging by a thin and narrow string.

One more word from this girl and this will get ugly.

"You know Diana you're an interesting person," said Aaliyah scooting her chair a bit too close to Diana's chair.

"What do you mean by that, Aaliyah," said Diana putting away her school supplies in her backpack.

"I mean at least I'm not lying to my parents about what I do," said Aaliyah in a threatening tone but her facial expression calm everybody in the room.

The realization hit me like a bag of bricks to my chest.

Aaliyah knows about me and Kingsley.

Only god knows who else has seen what I do in the dark.
