Chapter 5: "Reunited"

The next morning, Rex woke up refreshed and happy. He wasn't sure what it was, but he felt great.

It's as if all worries were lifted off his shoulders.

He stopped in front of Unikitty's room, and looked down at her pink carpet. It appeared that Marie had made another dress using its fabric.

Instead of getting angry, Rex smiled at it, and found it charming. Marie was really creative, and he appreciated all of her talent.

She was such a wonderful person. He regretted being angry with her before.

He continued to the dining room, where Marie had already prepared an extravagant breakfast.

Unikitty turned to him, waving happily.
"Morning, Rex!"

"Morning, you little rascal." He petted her head, then looked at Marie. "A new dress?"

"I asked Unikitty if it was okay."

"I'm not mad. Don't worry. Thank you for making breakfast. I never really have time myself. It's...nice..."

Marie blushed, then poured coffee into Rex's mug. "You're welcome. I just really wanted to do something for you."

A sudden knock sounded at the door, and Unikitty hopped out of her seat.

"I'll get it!" She hopped towards the door.

Rex looked at Marie, "Um...honestly..."
"Hmm?"

"Well, thank you for giving me a second chance. I'm nice, I promise. I was just...scared." He admitted, "I know I'm weak for that."

"No, you're the strongest person ever for admitting that. After what you've been through. You deserve happiness."

"Yours seems to be rubbing off on me. You should...stay here. You know-"

Rex was cut off by the sound of another voice echoing through the apartment.

"Hello! I'm Prince Emmet, seeking my bride Marie! Is she here?"

"Oh my gosh! Oh my goodness!" Marie perked up, "He's here!"
"No way." Rex uttered in disbelief.

Marie fixed her dress, and turned towards Rex. "How do I look?"

"Slightly stunned."
"No, no." Marie shook her head, "How do I look?"

Rex hesitated to answer, because he was scared to tell the truth. But he needed to. He just couldn't hold it back from her.

"You look...beautiful." He replied.

Emmet spotted her from the living room, and perked up instantly. After an entire night of searching the apartment building, he had found her.

"Marie!"
"Emmet..." she ran up to him, "I'm so glad you're...here. You're okay, right?"

"Never better." He turned towards Rex, "And you! How dare you hold her captive? I can't believe people can be this cruel."

"Oh, no! He's my friend." Marie told him.
"Oh...friend?"

"He helped me. He's really kind. I promise. He let me stay here with him while I waited." Marie explained.

"I see. I'm sorry, I misunderstood. Everyone is just so cruel here."

Marie nodded, "This is Rex, and that's Unikitty. You two, um, this is Emmet."

"Nice to...meet you?" Rex said in the form of a question. Emmet reminded him of someone, but once again, he wasn't sure.

"Are you ready to go home, Marie? We shall head to the Systar System right away." Emmet smiled, "Then we'll be married!"
