♡I am so sorry for not being active on here. Life has been bleh and honestly I lost the hyperfixiation, but that doesn't mean I completely lost my love for our adorable mountain man♡

(Muriels PoV)

It started when I was feeding the chickens and I heard talking. I thought I was going insane until I saw her. Our eyes met for only a moment, which just happened to be just long enough for me to run back into my hut. Her hair was tied back(or pushed back if you have short hair), her dress had a touch of dirt on the bottom from picking berries. A sign escaped my lips just remembering how pretty she was.

Soon there was a knock at my door. I stiffened and held my breath. You're kidding me, she followed me?! I heard her outside, mumbling to herself, "I guess he's shy..." I felt like I was about to pass out before I heard the foot steps fading away. It was a good few minutes of gasping before I caught my breath again.

When I felt safe enough, I opened the door. Sitting right in front of me was a napkin, neatly wrapped around something. The napkin was embroidered with daisies along the edge and was made of a soft cotton. Dispite the softness of the fabric I held it away from me as if it would explode. My head was screaming at me to either throw the bundle or open it. Eventually, my curiousity got the better of me. Inside was a handful of berries, mushrooms, and a couple wild herbs. Under the pile of foraged items was a note.

I am so sorry to disturb you. Here are some of the things I found today. I hope you enjoy! Everything is edible, I promise! -Y/N

I grunted and looked at the pile in front of me. Of course they're edible...I gather these all the time. Still I felt an unfamiliar warmth in my chest. No one aside from Asra knew I even existed. Looking at the napkin, I knew I had to repay her somehow. I took the delicate piece of fabric that looked so out of place in my house and filled it with Myrrh. Now the issue is figuring out where she is...

It took an hour before I found a small cottage that I hoped was hers. Leaving the poorly done bundle and a note, I quickly went back to my hut.

That's how it started. Weeks passed, every day I opened my door to a bundle. Sometimes it was flowers, other times it was homemade bread. I always took back what she had used to transport it with a trade of some kind. Was it really a trade though? I knew I made a friend through small notes and homemade gifts, but that didn't explain the warmth in my chest. The way I felt my cheeks heated up and a goofy smile find it's way to my face everytime I saw something new.

Until there wasn't something new on my door step. I thought it was just once, but after a week I noticed that the small gifts had stopped. Before I could stop myself, I was at her front door. I shook off my fears and knocked, it took a second before the door opened.

What I saw changed my life. In front of me was that beautiful woman, staring back at me with the same shock and awe that I was staring at her with. It took her a minute before she composed herself. "Oh! You're Muriel! Right?" All I could do was nod like an idiot. "Would you like to come in?" I nodded again, still trying to find the words. Any words really. Her dress had beautiful little flowers on it that were slightly hidden with a slightly stained apron. Her eyes looked like they held a galaxy in them.

I followed her inside, taking in the decor. There was a rocking chair with an unfinished knitting project next to it, paintings depicting farms and landscapes, enough lace to fill The Palace. It was perfect. It was perfectly her. I felt out of place in the soft beauty. "Do you like tea?" She asked, shaking me out of my thoughts. I, once again, nodded like an idiot. She giggled and rushed off to, what I assume to be, the kitchen. I stood in the same spot, afraid to touch anything. Afraid to break anything.

Before too long she came out with two small teacups. So small that I was sure I would shatter them if I touched them. "You know you can sit...right?" I looked around for a place before she giggled again. "On the couch?" She giggled...Why was that so cute. I want to hear it again... I sat down, trying to make myself small as possible. "I wasn't expecting anyone to visit. No one really comes out here, so I'm sorry about the mess." I liked it when no one came here, yet you changed that. The words stuck in my throat. "So, is there a reason for your visit?"

The clog in my throat finally left. "I was um...Wondering if you were okay..."

Her nose scrunched in confusion. "You were worried about me?"

"Well...You stopped...leaving things..." my face was slowly turning red.

"Oh! I thought I was annoying you with them." She tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.

"No!" She and I both jumped at how loud my voice became. "No...I actually...enjoy them."

"I didn't know you did..."

"I enjoy your presence in the forest...it's been a while since..." I trailed off, unsure of where my sentence was going.

She smiled, "I enjoy your presence too..." a faint blush tinted her cheeks.

After that the conversation seemed to go on for hours. Mostly her asking questions about me and me answering them. Nothing big, just wanting to know what my favorite color was, how my carving was going, my favorite flower. It wasn't until I finally looked out the window that I realized how late it was.

"Oh...I guess it has gotten late..." she sounded disappointed.

"I'm sorry...I do need to head back...Chickens in the morning..."

"It's okay." Before I left she did something that made me pause. She kissed my cheek. I stampered a quick goodbye and all but ran home.

The next morning, there was a bundle in front of my home. This napkin was much like the very first one, but the embroidery was different.

This one had daisies and forget-me-nots entwined on it. She listened...she remembered. That's when I realized I loved her.

♡this was my first time getting a request. I hope it was what the reader had hoped for. Thank you for taking the time to read and I am once again apologizing for not being very active on here. I've been hyper fixating on TXT so that's taken up a lot of my brain function♡
