Gossip Girl: Continued

An unexpected friend

"Check!" Chuck said as he was waving his hand back and fourth.

"This was really nice, you know catching up!" Serena smiles. Dan nodded his head agreeing. "Hey, babe. I gotta go somewhere. I'll meet you at the house soon." Serena said and kisses Dan's cheek and left. Where is she going? Dan thought.

"Hey Chuck, I'll pay you back later. I totally forgot I have to meet Vanessa for this thing...." And just like that Dan ran out of the restaurant and called for a taxi.

"Follow that car." Dan said then pointed to Serena's limo. Dan was tapping his foot on the back of the seat. Who is she meeting? Is she cheating on me? Dan just shut up, this sit high school. Serena is a faithful, devoted wife. Show wouldn't do that. Dan thought. Finally, they reached a Café- Au Café, a French Bistro and Cafe. What the hell? We just ate. Why is she here? Dan just watched Serena get out of the limo, and waiting in front of the Café looking from side to side. A black Volvo convertible pulls up, and a tall guy, with short dark brown hair comes out. Colin? As in Colin Forrester? Dan thought in shock. Why is she meeting him?

"Colin!" Serena greeted, as she leaned in or a hug. "Wow! Long time, right?"

"Yeah! Five years. I see you have a ring on that pretty little finger of yours. Who is the lucky guy?" Colin asked, while he opened the door for her.

"Dan. Dan Humphrey. He actually doesn't know I am meeting you..." Serena says awkwardly.

"Whats the problem? You can tell him?" Colin asked looking confused. "I guess you are still the old Serena, keeping secrets." He sighs.

"No!" Serena says practically knocking off her water glass over. "No, I am not. It's just, I don't know what to expect, its been a while and you called me out of the blue. What do you need that its so important that I had to meet you today?"

"You see, I got into some trouble...." Colin sighs.

"What type of trouble?" Serena asked raising one eyebrow. Suddenly, a waitress comes up to their table asking them what they want. Colin ordered a coffee with two cubes of sugar. Serena didn't order anything.

"So, two years ago, I got married. Four months ago Mona is now my ex-wife. I decided to break it off because she was interested in other guys. Like more than ONE guy at a time. Like her having sex with multiple guys, and didn't want to be married and have kids. Unfortunately, we have a kid, and he is almost one years old. It doesn't make sense 'cuz she isn't responsible enough to take care of him. Now, she is making allegations that I am the one who is drinking and out of control, and doing drugs. While some of that was true, that was for a short period of time, because I found out my mom died, and we were really close." Colin said, trying not to shed a tear.

"Colin, I am so sorry." Serena says feeling sympathetic.

"No, I'm okay now. I later found out that Mona is a prostitute, and found a stash of pot in her lingerie drawer. I showed that to the judge and now she is temporarily in jail. Unfortunately, the court still believes that I am an out of control drinking father and does drugs. Now this is where you come in...." Colin gulps then takes a deep breath. What am I stepping in to..... Serena thought.

"Here is your coffee." The waitress hands.

"Merci." Colin thanked, then took a sip of his coffee."Now, the court is close to giving custody of baby Tyler to the state which basically means they are giving him to a foster home , and I don't want that to happen...." Colin said now tears dripping down his eyes, and plopped into his coffee. Awwww, this is awful! I feel so bad. Now i want to cry. Serena though as she looked up so she owuldnt cry. "I was wondering.....if....ahem...you....could foster him. Or even adopt him." Colin stuttered. Oh. My. Gosh. What do I say? I have to check with Dan, and I don't think he is going to be happy about this.

"I don't know what to say, Colin, other than I'm so sorry and feel so bad. I would have to take permission from Dan. I wish I could give you an answer now, but I honestly don't know." Serena said while she was biting her lip. "Why did you ask me anyways?"

"I don't know.....I just, I feel like I have always felt like you could be an amazing mother. Just call me once you have made your decision, okay?" Colin confirmed.

"Yeah, definitely. I will, I promise. Don't worry, even if we won't be able to foster him or adopt him, just believe in the best not the worst. Tyler will be okay, okay? And here you go." Serena said holding his hands, plopping an extra house key. 

"What's this for?" Colin asked. 

"If you ever need anything urgent just stop by." She smiled. "Okay, I've got to go. Nice talking to you." Serena waves then leaves the café.

"Money?" The mexican driver asked Dan. "You owe twenty dollars."

"Yeah, one minute." Dan says then looks threw his wallet. Shit. Only five dollars. "Uh, do you take credit cards?" Dan slyly smiles. The mexican man looked angry at Dan and shook his head no. "Ahem. I'm sorry all i have is five dollars." The mexican man threw Dan out of his car. Uh-oh. There was Serena standing right there.

"Dan?" Serena asked looking confused.

"Oh, hey babe....." Dan says smiling guiltily.
