Best Friends?

Chapter 2

I'm standing at my locker when Megan comes running up to me looking really excited about something.

"Oh my god, oh my god!" Megan says eagerly.

"What? What?" I say mockingly.

"Nick was totally looking at me in class!"

"So?" I ask a little confused. Why would she care?

"Okay I don't know what world you live in Beck, but in girl world it means he totally is crushing on you!" She squeals.

"Well do you like him back?" I ask.

"Well...I kinda have my eye on another guy but I don't know kinda I guess!"

"That's cute! But who's the other guy?" I ask.

"Ha Ha can't tell you now but you'll find out probably at your Halloween party!"

"Why will it be at my party?"

"Because he's going to be there and I'm going to make my move!" Megan says laughing and winks, "I'm pretty sure he likes me back so I'll be fine!"

"I'm sure you will" I say.

"Okay, well see you tomorrow!" Megan says waving goodbye.

"Bye see you tomorrow!" I say back.

Man that girl is always so happy! I just don't get it.

I finally get home and decide to shoot some hoops. I score a basket when I hear someone whistle behind me. I turn around to find Luke standing there.

"What do you want?" I say laughing. Luke was always such a flirt even with me, it was actually quite amusing sometimes.

"Just walking home and saw you playing and thought I'd join" Luke says.

"Be my guest!" I say throwing him the ball and he shoots it and gets a basket.

"Wow nice shot" I say.

"Thanks! But why isn't Matt playing with you?" Luke asks, "Don't you guys usually play one on one or something?"

"I don't know I thought he was with you but...I guess not..." I say a little confused.

Why wasn't Matt home? Usually he drives me home but he had football today so usually he just drives right home. Was Matt, Nick and Luke not speaking or something? Or was Matt in trouble or failing and had to stay after school? Whatever it was I'm sure I'll find out later.

"I saw him at school today" Luke says.

"Well he drove me to school today so I assume so" I say.

"If he drove you to school then how did you get home?"

"Jess drove me home"

"Oh true" he says, "Wait don't you have a car of your own?"

"Well yea, but why take two cars when one is already going to the same place!" I say nervously.

"Then why don't you ever drive him so school?" Man this guy has a lot of questions.

I would never admit this to anyone but driving kinda scares me. Matt has offered that I can drive, but I don't want to so I just let him. But I would never tell Matt, Luke, Nick or Megan this, it's way to embarrassing. The only person who knows is Jessica.
