"LANDO NORRIS. WHERE IS MY BAT?" i shouted down the stairs to my brother who was busy on the playstation.
"Well i don't know. Wherever you last put it dumbass!" He shouted back before pausing his game and appearing at the bottom of the stairs.
"I can't find it and my flight out to Aus is in..." i quickly checked my watch, "4 hours, i need to leave like half an hour ago. Ive still got to get to stansted. Where is my bat."
"The one made of wood?"
"Yes."
"And it has the red handle."
"Yes."
"And the blue writing down the side that peels off."
"Yes."
"No I don't know where it is." He said and turned around to return to the playstation.
I gave him a double middle finger and ran back into my room to search my many kit bags once again for my missing bat.
Eventually, i found it. Suprise, suprise in Lando's room, in his wardrobe of all places. I shoved it into the top of my suitcase and ran down the stairs with my keys in my mouth and my face red and my hair a mess. Lando was stood by the door with shoes on and his own keys in his hand, a nicely looking packed suitcase stood next to him. How?
"Where are you going? You don't have a race this week." I said with my keys still in my mouth.
"Surprise. Me and some of the group are coming to watch you play." He said with some pathetic ass jazz hands.
"Aww thanks. You haven't been in like forever, it will be great fun, i miss the boys." I chuckled.
He never gets to come to my test matches, him being away racing all the time. So this was a very rare occurrence... an even rarer occurrence that his friends come along.
Carlos is my brother, he is practically family at this point after our mother adopted him as soon as she set eyes on him, so i always call him my favourite brother.
Alex thought i played golf, like his girlfriend, when he first came, but was surprised to turn up at lords instead. Him and lando like to argue lots and its funny.
Charles is the clueless one: last time he came he got hit by a six that went straight into the crowd, and even then he was too zoned out to notice.
The only one that even really knows about cricket is George and thats because he is a posho from norfolk. He is however, the funniest one and i seem to be the only one to appreciate his bad dad jokes. Lando was convinced that i liked him, which was wrong, George is just the only one that isn't stupid.
Its entertainment to say the least when they come, so I'm going to make the most of it.
"Now can we go I'm going to miss my flight if i stand here any longer." I said nodding towards the door.
"Your watch is upside down mate. You've read it as 9 when really it is 6. There is no rush. They are literally pulling up in a minute." He said and i flipped my wrist upside down.
Man i am stupid.
There was a knock at the door a moment later and Lando answered it and a Alex appeared. He gave Lando a small hug and grabbed my suitcase for me.
"You've got the choice of going with George and all the luggage or all of us." Alex said as we made our way down the steps to the driveway. I saw Charles in the drivers seat and just knew my best bet to not get lost was to go with George.
"I'll take George, he is the most sane and Charles will get lost." I pulled open the passenger door of George's merc and chucked my phone and stuff in the seat before helping Alex and Lando fit our suitcases in the boot.
