Like Autumn Leaves (Liam Payne)

Chapter 1

(Skylars P.O.V.)

I was sitting in my room. My dad wasn’t at home; he was in Tokyo or something.. for work. He was hardly ever at home which means I was almost always alone. My mum left us when I was about 2 years old. She didn’t die; she just decided to start a new life far away from us with her boyfriend. I never heard anything from her, I didn’t even remember her. The doorbell rang. That must be Niall. He’s been my best friend since kindergarten and he was just like a brother to me. I walked downstairs to open the door. “Hi Larry” Niall said. “When are you going to stop calling me like that?” I asked annoyed. But two seconds later I was laughing real hard ‘cause of the face Niall made. He looked like a hurt puppy.  “Sorry Larry but I never will” he said. My name isn’t Larry obviously, it’s Skylar. But at the age of 7 some girls called me Larry I think it’s because of the ‘lar’ at the end of my name. It was 10 years ago and Niall still doesn’t seemed to forget it. We were having a movie night today, like every Wednesday. “So what movie should we watch?” I asked. “I’ve brought ‘Paranormal Activity 1’ but you know if you’re such a baby like you always are and don’t want to watch it we can also watch Cinderella” he said laughing. I hit him in the shoulder and I answered: “I’m not a baby” “I don’t think so.. You’ll have to prove it” he said. “Fine, we’re watching this paranormal shit. Put the DVD in I’ll get us some popcorn.”

Willing to watch Paranormal Activity was the worst thing I could’ve done. I was terrified all the time and I think I might have even cried. The last part, where the demon jumps into the camera literally made me fall off the sofa. I lay on the floor for about half an hour. I guess Niall fell asleep while watching the film. I stood up and wanted to wake him but he just looked so adorable and so I decided to let him sleep. We could go to his house to get his books tomorrow before school. I took the blanket and put it over him, then I turned the light off and went to sleep too.  Well you can’t really call it sleep it was more like hoping no demon would come and eat me.

My alarm clock woke me up. I went downstairs to see if Niall was still sleeping, he was. So I walked over to the kitchen and made us some breakfast. I set the table and woke Niall up. He was totally shocked and screamed like a girl, guess he didn’t take the movie really good too. At least I wans't the only one. We ate our breakfast and got ready. I took a quick shower, put some mascara and clothes on and went downstairs. Afterwards we went to Niall’s house and after that we took the bus to our school.

We hugged to say goodbye and I stepped into the room where the history class took place. History wasn’t my favorite subject at all but I really loved the teacher. I sat down. All the girls were talking and laughing except me. I’m not sure if they hated me or just didn’t notice me. I think it’s the first one.  I’ve always been an outsider but they didn’t bully me. At least not anymore. I think it would’ve never stopped if it wasn’t for Niall. He was in another school first. But one year ago he changed into my school just to be by my side. It was really sweet of him and he became really popular here. The girls saw me with him and they stopped. I don’t really know why.

Mrs. Frey came in, a guy followed her. I didn’t really pay attention to him but he was probably new. The bell rang and the girls sat down. Mrs. Frey greeted us and he told us that we had a new student, she made him introduce himself: “Err hei, my name is Liam Payne and I’m from Wolverhampton. We moved last week and yeah here I am.” He was handsome. And by handsome I mean really freaking perfect looking and he seemed to be nice too. Ah Skylar forget him he’ll become one of these popular boys and the popular girls are going to scramble to get him he won’t even notice you. I was even talking to myself now. “Ok now Liam we have to get you a seat.. There’s one next to Skylar and one text to Taylor.. Where do you want to sit?” Mrs. Frey said. I was sure he’d pick Taylor, she was stunning. Half the school had a crush on her, even some of the girls.  “I’m sorry but I don’t know who’s called how, can I just sit next to the brown haired girl” See he picked Taylor. No No No No wait a second did he say brown haired girl? But Taylor was blond. I must’ve imagined that. “That’s Skylar, don’t worry we’ll do a quick introducing game so you’ll know the names.” He really meant me. Wow. Liam walked over to my desk and sat down next to me. “Hay” he said.
