"We have been together for thirteen almost fourteen years, and we didn't even have sex with each other once"
Kaveh states, sitting across the table from you, one leg crossing over the other, as his right-hand lies on his left cheek.
"Nor did I sleep with anyone except my dead husband, and it was only a two-time thing," you say, glaring at the Persian prince.
Kaveh's mouth almost drops in shock, as his eyes grow big before he lets out an amused chuckle.
"Wait! Have you only had sex two times in your life? And I thought you favored Qais and Hotep" you sigh, and roll your eyes playfully.
"I'm not really into carnal pleasure, I even made a law to prevent prostitution if you don't already know that"
The Persian prince watches as you tap your fingers against the table, a nervous habit of yours that he noticed over the years.
"Then why did you keep me and the others chained to you this whole time, giving us hope that one of us might end up being your husband!"
Kaveh exclaims, standing up, before slamming his hands on the table.
"I don't remember making any promises of marriage," you declare in a calm voice.
From the burning glint in his eyes, you thought Kaveh would wrap his hands around your neck and choke you to death.
But the opposite happens, Kaveh's eyes become glassy from tears which shocked you.
"You took me away from my home, stripped out of my birthright, and in the end, you consider me just a plaything..."
Every word that comes out of his mouth makes your throat go dry as your chest tightens.
"I consider you a lover...never a plaything, Kaveh" the said man chuckles.
"Just like you consider the others your lovers? You can only have one person to own your heart"
You stand up and place your hands on top of his, causing Kaveh to feel at ease.
The fact that you are not mad at his outburst made him discover one thing about you.
And it is that you respect his feelings genuinely.
"It's hard to explain, you mean a lot to me, and I know that I mean a lot to you too" Kaveh raises an eyebrow at you.
"And how do you know that?"
"You didn't try once to run away, not even once did you say that you wanted to return to Persia"
"I do not only consider you a lover, but you are also my family, you stood with me and my children in times of need, God send you to me" you add, tears falling down your cheeks.
It is true, Kaveh was the best person to comfort you when you are sad or scared.
Before Kaveh could say something, Akshin enters without knocking.
The Nubian's prince eyes immediately move to yours and Kaveh's hands.
"The smith finished making the new weapons" Akshin announces, his expression hardens from jealousy and envy at your interaction with his rival.
Kaveh notices and removes his hands away from yours.
But not before placing a gentle kiss on your lips.
The fair-skinned prince walks over to Akshin, stopping by his side, then whispering the following words.
"I hope you die in a war like the coward you are, my prince"
Kaveh walks out with a smirk on his face, yet still thinking about your words.
Akshin walks to you, the same frown now gone and replaced with a kind look.
"I was thinking if we win this war" you cut him off.
"We will win this war" you assert strictly.
"After we win this war..." he corrects himself, getting an approving nod from you, before continuing.
"How about Egypt, and Nubia become one?" you sit back on your chair.
"And how is that going to happen?"
"Through marriage"
"There's another idea"
"What?" you smirk.
"I invade Nubia and behead your father"
You meant it in a joking way, nevertheless, Akshin got offended.
"(Y/n)" he growls out.
"If you don't like the idea, then stop speaking nonsense"
𓃠𓅓𓃠𓅓𓃠
Zahra looks down at her hands in boredom, having nothing better to do.
Getting an earful from her adoptive father all week for causing war, is not the best experience.
But, she is happy, because the boy who called her 'ugly' is facing a backlash.
It annoys the young girl that she is not considered as beautiful as you.
Zahra doesn't only see you as a mother, but also as a role model.
She would kill for you as means of getting more of your attention.
"I see that you are all alone here, my beautiful princess" the young girl rolls her eyes upon hearing the familiar voice.
However, she puts on a happy smile as he approaches her, just to look happy.
The boy has short silver hair and piercing red eyes.
His appearance doesn't bother the princess, as he looks the same age as her.
"My beloved Satan, have you got any happy news for me" the demon smirks.
"The boy who bothered you who is called Sufyan"
"Yes, what about him?"
"He is dead"
A/n: Zahra doesn't know the concept of 'Satan' yet because she follows the ancient Egyptian religion, and Qais didn't care to speak about his religion to her.
