"Please don't sell me away! I'll be good next time promise!-"

"Shut up! keep that mouth shut if you want to see the next day of your life." The doctor said sternly as he dragged the small fox to an unfamiliar location. The doctor tossed him, making him fall to his knees in front of a very tall mobian. "Perfect... How much with he cost?" the mobian's deep voice sent shivers down the little fox's spine and he whimpered. "I'll take four rings hm! How's that offer?" The doctor smirked, crossing his arms.

"Deal, I'll take him."

. . .

The feeble fox groaned, he jolted out of bed and panted heavily. Right... I forgot, I have been sold before..

"The old thing's broken, barely got to have fun with 'em, I want my rings back!"

"Of course! full refunds for the broken toy."

Gus held his head and walked out of his room, it was still late at night, and all the lights were off except his. The dark orange fox went over to where the sleeping ebony hedgehog lay and smiled sadly, one day he'd also have to go.
All the countless times the poor fox had been broken from all those bad mobians made him almost hate them, he never had the mouth to speak up to anyone and he'd let himself be taken advantage of. The fox never wanted to admit that he wasn't supposed to stay with the doctor as his assistant, but no one wanted to buy him since he'd always 'break'.

Never has Gus ever wanted to leave the doctor's lab in so long, he'd only leave at midnight when everyone was a-bed, out like a light. He walked closer to the exit, he grabbed his pouch that held a few useful items, and opened the hatch with his finger verification.
I hope I don't have the little guy waiting too long.

. . .

"Gus, you made it," The azure hedgehog smiled brightly and tightly hugged Gus. "Sorry I wasn't here on time... Again." Gus sighed and sat down on the hill, letting his feet dangle off the edge as the two friends talked for hours without end and as the air started to get still, a cold chilling breeze passing through the two mobian's bodies and they both shivered. "Sonic, you should get sleep,"
"But we still have stuff to catch up on-"

"We'll catch up another night, how does that sound?"

Sonic looked down and sighed, he nodded even though he didn't want Gus to go. He enjoyed the fox's company, but he knew he always had to go when it was 1:30am. Sonic's new owner didn't know the two snuck out, sometimes Gus would bring Shadow along to see how Sonic was doing.
Shadow agreed because he missed the azure hedgehog's company the most when in the lab by himself, Sonic was his only friend after all, they were inseparable.

Gus gave his little goodbye with a hug and opened tapped the tip on his glove and a portal opened that leaded to the door. "C'ya bud." He mumbled with a smile before walking in, the portal closed and Sonic's ears flopped down slightly to see the fox go.
Sonic got up and headed back inside the dark house, everyone was asleep peacefully in their rooms while Sonic was awake. He went to his bedroom and flopped on the bed thinking of what adventures he could tell Gus on his other visit, before slowly putting his emerald green eyes to rest for the night.

. . .

The sun rose and Sonic was the first awake, he yawned tiredly, gritting his teeth in annoyance of the bright rays of the flaming orb in the light blue sky. He was violently shaken when he laid back down not too long as he closed his eyes. "Ugh..." He groaned, pulling a pillow behind him to his head as the blinds opened up again. "Wake up ya big sleepy head!" Silver chuckled slightly and picked him up out of bed and placed him on the cold floor.
"Cold! Cold cold!" Sonic jolted again as Silver laughed. "Good morning, had a good rest?"

Sonic sighed angrily and nodded, he got up off the cold ground and wiped his still drooping eyes.
